echemh
I saw I can supposedly run 256 mods before crash but I have narrowed down considerable because even running just over 200 it would get to menu and tell me cannot load. anyway I am down to 160 now and I load up and get to doc mitchell and get graphics issue shown in attachment. How can I fix this? I have been trying to get back into game for a couple years now because I keep having mod issues and I really love this game and its mods. I have spent a week so far getting this far this time and would appreciate being able to finally get my mods in order. I do not know how to show my mod load order if that is needed to help me someone will have to help me figure out how to do that.
M48A5
You cannot now nor have you ever been able to have more than 135-140 files (depending on your equipment) in your load order.
KiCHo666
256 mods =/= 256 plugins. You can have have 256 mods installed IF those mods are mesh/texture replacers that don't require plugins (esp/esm) to work.
dubiousintent
Technically, you can "have" more than 256 mods in play even in FNV. What you can't have are too many "active individual plugins" in your load order. (People can start to experience problems anywhere above 128 (or so) "active plugins" though the 140 figure is more commonly used.) This is accomplished by "merging multiple compatible plugins" into a single plugin to reduce the number that have to be "active". So while both replies above are correct, it becomes necessary to be a bit more discriminating about the terminology: e.g. as alluded "a mod" might consist of both an ESM and an ESP file. In which case the "mod" equals two "active plugins" in the "load order". (And files that do not show up in the "load order" still have an impact upon system memory and performance.) Please see the wiki "Merged Plugin Guidelines for Personal Use" article on ways to reduce the active plugin count.-Dubious-
