Poacher886
Just wandered if anyone is playing SSE with either the AMD RX5700 or XT and are there any issues?? Im thinking of getting one, but i hear some people having various driver issues with some games including Skyrim.
JimmyRJump
I'm using a Vega64 and the AMD Radeon Adrenalin 2020 software is a complete revamp with loads of new features and a completely revised interface. It's nice and all but after a few updates already I'm thinking of going back to the early December 2019 version because of the intrusion of the AMD software when playing games. Maybe I need to adapt some settings but I have the impression that Skyrim SE sometimes crashes thanks to the AMD software changing things in-game. It could be my imagination, mind, or my mod-load as I have 516 mods installed in total. I personally wouldn't buy a 5700 because it's not an upgrade in my case but more like a side-grade. I also think that drivers shouldn't influence wether or not you're gonna buy a certain GPU. Drivers get updated all the time and when there's issues, they get sorted, so, hey... JimmyRJump
Its the new RDNA architecture im interested in....you dont need to upgrade yet!I'm waiting for 'Big Navi' which, according to Lisa Su, will be released this year. XT 5800/5900/5950 is rumored to blow a 2080ti clean out of the water. Not that I care much about rumors or NVidia.

I might hold tight myself, alot of graphics tech coming through this year, big navi being one. Was just interested in if AMD had sorted the teething probs with their drivers on older games. JimmyRJump
Teething problems? You mean like growing pains? My English is good, but it's not my primary language and some expressions didn't get across the pond, or I missed them altogether. The drivers are okay-ish. Since the release in December of the Adrenalin 2020 software, there have been three updates that I know of. They were mostly patches for crashes. The "ish" part of my assessment is that I feel the software starts to intrude too much on a game with an overlay that can be accessed while the game is running and you can alter stuff 'on-the-spot'. Can be a good thing except when certain key combinations used in the RaceMenu are the same as those for features in the Radeon overlay. The good thing is that you can turn off the overlay, of course. Anyway, I had a few crashes because of the software interfering with the game, but since the last update (v20.1.2 from 12 January) I have been trouble-free. *EDIT*New drivers released on the 27th, v20.1.4. *EDIT*Don't use the v20.1.4 software. A Crash-fest. Crashes even when only using Firefox. Went back to v20.1.2.
