backstab89
I decided to start a new game. However, after i had reached the blacksmith alvor in riverwood to do the mini quest in which he asks me to make an iron dagger, the quest never progress unless i change the current cell by entering another home or by fast travel. Other quests in the game seems normal to me so far without any bugs. anjenthedog
Not sure if that's a bug or not. I've noticed that some quests require a bit of time to go by or distance (changing cells) before they progress.
Anselmp
I've had the same since moving to SSE. I have a very different set of mods. But I don't feel the need for an iron dagger, so I let it go.
anjenthedog
I've done that quest four times now, using two characters (and two early saves for each). Of those, one allowed me to progress without any time delay or cell change. It was the second one for my first character, executed after I'd done it for the second character the first time. ieOriginal char original run through: had to cell changeSecond char original run through: had to cell changeOriginal char second run through: no cell change requiredSecond char second run through: had to cell change To be clear, (because you might be asking why in the world I'd do that...) since there's really little for me to do at this point other than to cough up another "kill the vampire" quest by visiting Fort Dawnguard and getting new one from the three NPCs who offer them, or getting a "wench has been captured by bandits..save her" quest (from the wenches mod), (no, the thieves guild quest isn't for me, no Boethia isn't something I'm going to do, the civil war vector bores me to tears, as I'm not on either side, (although I wish there was a third where we slaughtered the Aldemeri... I'd be game for that) and no, neither am I going to sully my virtual soul by becoming an assassin or a vampire) I often find myself opening old saves and "starting" over from that point in the game to see if it'll vector differently, hence two times doing the smithing quest for each of my two characters... So anyway, point is, in three of four times executing that quest, I had to cell change. In one I didn't...shrug.
Anselmp
In Legendary there was a series of 4 mods by MadFrenchie which were a campaign against the Thalmor. They were adapted to work with Helgen Reborn. I remember working through 3 of them, but the other conflicted with the DawnGuard quest near Dragon's Bridge. These seem to have disappeared. Have you tried BRUMA?

Have you tried BRUMA? Yep. Installed Beyond Skyrim Bruma pretty early on after installing the game in fact (slyrim late feb 2019, Beyond Skyrim Bruma around May or early June) . I go there sometimes, but I haven't found all that much to do other than explore unoccupied areas of the landmass. PS> that LE stuff about the Thalmor sounds kinda interesting
JimmyRJump
Never install a hundred-plus mods on a new play-through unless you know they all work without the game going belly-up. Install mods as you go along, maximum five at a time so that you don't have problems more or less knowing which ones can cause the problem. I started a new play-through with 400-ish mods, 249 plugins. All mods of which I knew they worked together and I ran into problems right from the start because the game and most mods got updated. I managed to sort things out and am now level 53, almost two-hundred hours into the game with 572 mods of which 297 have a plugin (44 light) and I have a CTD East of Winterhold, always in the same spot. Haven't found yet what causes the CTD but I avoid the area for the time being. I avoid mods like the Bruma stuff because of too much potential to clash with other mods I use. Too script-heavy. Interesting mods, sure, but in the end not worth the possible hassle. Plus, I don't want half of my plugins to be patches.
Anselmp
572 mods? I still sometimes find mods I have somehow missed but I would be amazed to find so many that are any good. I keep characters for testing purposes, including one at level 53 who has done all the main campaigns and even visited Vominheim, but after testing something new I remove all saves after the main established one. There is another at an early stage that I use to play around with but that is still working. BRUMA has given no trouble, although I did not like the ending when the Guard Captain was whisked away. But I don't like the Dragonborn ending either. Rigmor is more difficult in that it is very fussy about the order and timing of actions, but saving often keeps this under control. As recommended, I have a character who only does this. With your experience of so many mods have you noticed any that affect any stewards ability to offer a property for sale? My advanced character, established before adding SKSE, never had any trouble of this sort.
