sgtgrr Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 (edited) I know fallout 3 isn't compatible with windows 8 but it worked fine windows 7.Anyone goto a fix? This is the error MSG I get at start up."The ordinal 42 could not be located in the dynamic link library C:\windows\SYSTEM32\xlive.dll". Edited November 12, 2012 by sgtgrr
sgtgrr Posted November 12, 2012 Author Posted November 12, 2012 (edited) I fixed it .It seems the windows 8 testers already dealt with this.I just downloaded" GAMES FOR WINDOWS LIVE MARKETPLACE" from Microsoft. All good. Edited November 12, 2012 by sgtgrr
cyrus224 Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 yea a lot of games have that issue, its not Windows 8, and not just fallout. The thing is, pretty much anything that runs on 7 will run on 8.
luthienanarion Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Fallout 3 has always required GFWL, even if you buy it on Steam. FOMM also has an option to install a "fake" xlive.dll so you can bypass the need for it.
numerosix Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 Thank you so much. Finally I can play Fallout 3. I tried so many solution on the web that didn't work.
Cinder1997 Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 From what I have read, you need to download GFWL, and change the outgoing resolution to a higher resolution.. Hope that helps..
