jack63ss
I have been playing Skyrim for quite a while and finally got to the point where I had done everything and been everywhere in the vanilla game. So I decided I wanted to play the 3 DLCs, and since I didn't own them I looked into buying them. After doing some checking, I felt the best thing to do was buy Skyrim Special Edition and just switch my Save files over. I understand that the Mods are different, but I found 64bit versions of most of the important ones (I had a couple installed I didn't use anyway) and installed them with Vortex. What I have seems to be okay, but I was wondering if there was any general guidance about starting out with the old Save files ??? Also, can someone tell me what goes on with Arissa. I found Arissa - The Wandering Rogue (Default Body and Texture patch) but I don't think that is the actual follower, just a patch ? Is there NOT a mod for her ? Not a big deal, I'll find another follower, but I figured I'd ask, as I found conflicting info on the forum posts. ThanksJack
saurusmaximus
The one time I tried using a save file from LE on SSE, it seemed to work without any issues. That being said, I didn't play with it for a long time either, so I can't say you won't run into trouble. As long as the mod ports you are using are the same version as the original, you shouldn't have any problems there; but then again, this is Skyrim modding, so all bets are off. I guess my advice boils down to: "Be prepared to start a new game". I doesn't appear that Arissa has been ported over to SSE officially; you can try doing it yourself, there are plenty of guides on how to do it, and it sounds like others have successfully done it with only small issues. The patch you found replaces her default skin textures.
jack63ss
All I really want to do is run Dawnguard and Dragonborn in SE, as I have run thru 90% of the rest of Skyrim already. So I think what I am going to do is find a save point early enough in Skyrim that I have all the equipment I want, do a new SE install, and in the add-ons, and try running those save files. Hopefully that won't be too difficult and will work. Thanks
