I've been working with the CS a bit (And really, that's what it is, basically the Oblivion CS with a slightly different skin). I've figured out how to add new sounds, get weapons to reference sounds and other animations, etc. I'm not sure if new animations can be added - yet. Animation and modeling aren't my expertise, but if I spot a way, I'll be sure to post.

 

If you have any troubles with new sounds using the CS, just ask, Vash, I've already got that figured out almost 100%.

Hey, whatever happened to that sweet (even untextured) revolver with the huge scope on it (which I liked by the way, keep it that big please)? Also, Hows the progress with Vash's gun coming? I saw the picture you posted earlier explaining the problem, and was just wondering if you had made any progress on a workaround yet.

or maybe an lwrc or something, you could make it less powerful but more accurate than the FNFAL since it fires 6.8's.

Yeah, that Barrett looked pretty wicked on the youtube video. If anything, I'd be interested in seeing some more stealth type weapons or some submachine guns, which Vanilla is sorely lacking. The VZ61 is awesome, but how about this:

right now there is no way to add new animations without overwriting vanilla and potentally conflicting with future DLC.

 

new weapon content seems to have taken a serious blow. unlike the one anim set fits all melee that was good for oblivion, guns have several different animation needs and without being able to add proper animations for them.....well it just looks really bad.

 

i dont think its that they really dont want people animating for the game, its just the engine was not built with the foresight for new content such as this. bummer it is, but we may be stuck with it.

 

i mean sure you could add a pump shotgun or a AR rifle or whatnot, but its gonna fail when the animations dont match

The problem as I've seen it is that the engine doesn't handle animations like it used to.

 

Vash may very well be right - we might not be able to get new weapons.

 

For the time being, assume that's right and don't get your hopes up. Just keep weapons that fit the current animations in mind.

that im afraid will cannot be fixed at the moment. believe me these animations are KILLING me. seriously.

it will be ready soon. ive actually managed to convert a fully automatic assault rifle to a semi automatic rifle (literally, i did it from the Assault rifle as a base). that, and i kinda want to work on the ammo balance a bit more and i have to figure out how to place the scope.

 

 

is there a way to possibly add burst and fully auto as options for particular rifles?

maybe add a quick switch to a sidearm so you don't have to go to pipboy (that's just dumb)

 

 

 

there should be chance of random encounter (ambush) if you go to bed outside or in a hostile environment. perhaps perception or something to that end would help "warn" you of an ambush.

 

just a few ideas. not sure what all you're capable of.

 

would be nice if there were suppressors for more pistols and rifles.

Well, as I've said in other threads, you can add a pump shotgun by using the repeater animation, and just basically changing the sound and if possible finding a way to hide the hand that cocks it.

do you not have hotkeys set? when you are in your weapons menu, hold down on 1-8 and click a weapon, and once you are back in the game, pressing that button will draw whatever weapon it is set to, you dont have to use pipboy.

 

Well, as long as we have to wait (maybe indefinitely) for new reload animations, someone could always add this top loader with the hunting rifle animations: Ruger Mini 14 Straight Pull Rifle (.223)

oh, and speaking of .223's has anyone started Bladerunners gun yet? It looked like you guys were talking about, and that would be areally cool gun to have.

check out this dudes website, he has tanks, grenades, a spas shotty, another sniper rifle and some more stuff, if we could somehow get permission to use his stuff, all we would need is someone to touch it up a little, add some bumpmapping and textures(actually now that I think of it, sounds like alot of work).
