vashts1985, awesome work on the Desert Eagle and FN FAL, they're both really amazing. Many thanks!

 

What other weapons are you planning besides the L1A1? I think old prototypes like the FN-FAL

fit the game well. I can't wait to fill up FO3 with lots of custom weapons.

 

 

That sort of thing is *EXACTLY* What FO3 has been missing - I think you're dead-on about the 'feel' of those particular guns being exactly in-theme with the Fallout universe.

I too can't wait til the game fills up with custom weapons. Vash's great work here on actually truly integrating new guns into the game is EXTREMELY promising! :teehee:

wreckless: Pete actually modeled several sets of furniture and accessories for his FAL. i dont think he made any of the prototype stuff though. i dont think we would see something like that but you never know. it would look good ingame

Hey, I vastly enjoy your mods. The Desert Dragon (first one ) is my hands down favorite so far mainly cause I'm

a hand gun lover and being I never did buy the real Desert Eagle beast it is fun shooting a virtual one.

 

On the FNFAL mod. Fantastic work and thanks again!

 

 

Comment on the FNFAL.

 

I dunno, maybe my Chinese Assault Rifle, with my characters SmallGuns skill at 90, is just overpowered or

something but the FNFAL fall short in the damage arena.

These weapon damage levels are on 90 percent pluis condition weapons as my characters repair skill is 90ish with bonus boosting repair armor on:

 

Assault Gun 47

10MM SMG 36

Chinese Assault Gun 73 (holy cows is that crazy? )

FNFAL 33 (bah!)

Desert Dragon 53 (original one of your make and yes it isn't burst damage but just as an example )

 

I've not installed any damage mods only texture mods .. however come to think of it I do have one mod that

alters machine gun 'spread' to a lil tighter cone. I dont' think that mod is impacting burst damage totals though.

 

In any event, the FNFAL as implemented now makes me sorta cry. It looks great, smells great, feels damn good in the hands, but at present makes me just want to shoot tin cans and cars with it.

 

When at the stage of the game dealing with super mutants and tougher types I want the power the Chinese Assault rifle brings. Consider making that FNFAL a more potent beast, maybe offering to the user 2 or 3 differ power flavors to suit their play, they could pick one esp or the other and run with it.

 

On the subject oof that Chinese assault rifle.. maybe it is overpowered .. I hate to think what damage I can do with the

named unique version of that thing. I should spawn one and look.

 

(An edit since I posted this. I just noticed the FNFAL is a 2 round 'burst' so maybe it is better than it appears on 'paper' due

to the way the game reports damage. The other assault weapons fire more rounds per burst and I presume the damage

table is spread out on that total burst. )

 

Just an aside. I hope you do a 45 ACP varient of some sort. Maybe one of the high capacity 1911 45acp based models.

Now that gun makes me happy. Complete with beaver tail and all the bells and whistles like Trijicon sights. LOL.

I just noticed another criticism:

 

When in first person mode when 'shouldering' the weapon with right mouse button the weapon shoulders

too close to the viewers face in comparison to other long guns. Take a look at how the default weapons shoulder.

IMO the sights need to be in view we can't see enough of that fine work ya did.

Ah, I didnt' realize you had done something with damage tables on the other weapons in that first pass.

 

Cool, I see my Chinese rifle is not insane rated now and is back to 50 damage.

 

Now, is there something you can do maybe about how the weapon looks in first person when shouldered?

 

On my female character (no idea if it looks differ on male characters) it shoulders too close and the rear sight is not even

visible. This is in first person mode of course. (this is when you hit the right mouse button). Even if you just fire

the weapon with a normal left click it is clear the weapon is pulled in too close , can't even see most of it just the forend really.

If you swivle out in third person mode and rotate around one can see the stock of the weapon is actually in the texure

of the shoulder of the character and the elbow is really rotated out to compensate for the overly tight shouldering .

 

The mod looks great, thanks for the addition to this outstanding game. You guys are doing better work with textures

than the guys at Bethesda. LOL.

 

 

I have no idea how hard that would be to fix of course.

that im afraid will cannot be fixed at the moment. believe me these animations are KILLING me. seriously.

it will be ready soon. ive actually managed to convert a fully automatic assault rifle to a semi automatic rifle (literally, i did it from the Assault rifle as a base). that, and i kinda want to work on the ammo balance a bit more and i have to figure out how to place the scope.
