Nexus Site Being Weird

So the last few days the Nexus site has been weird for me, either taking forever to load a page and then just crashing, or the second thing is when I try to download a mod and I hit the mod manager download option it now opens some new window that asks me to choose between slow and fast downloads. Does anyone know why this is the new way of downloading other than the quicker way it use to be.

Heyas Overly! Yeah, there's been a lot of discussions about this, over in the site feedback section of the boards. https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/forum/117-feedback-suggestions-and-questions/

 

The servers are under a heavy load, and there's been a few updates that has gone on that takes them offline for a few minutes.

The new download screen is to try to deter the automated downloading of the files, used by some sites that are stealing mods from here, and hosting them on their own sites.

 

There's a lot of different posts about it over in the section of the boards that I've posted the link to, if you wanna go check it out.

Thank you for the response, I'm glad to know it's not just me. Sucks that people steal mods from Nexus just upload somewhere else. Hopefully they can figure a way around all this, not that the second page is terrible or bad just slows down the process if you're trying to download a lot of mods at once. After an incident in November 2019 I got a message to change my password. I read the article about it again today >>> Did everyone changed their passwords? >>> The report is on their page https : // www dot nexusmods dot com/news /14178

 

I changed my password and made some switches to my other links using a different browser.

I changed my pass for everything every few months and even on a new nexus account I was having the same weird page problem but I got it all figured out now.
