Sorry I have not been watching my articles very closely.

I added the download link for java in the assumptions section. Since I wrote this article, Sun Java was purchased by Oracle...which may be called Oracle Java one day but you can still access it via the link I provided.

boozhah, if you intend on modding content inside any BSA, you will need to extract it first...otherwise, there is no point to extract it. That is what I mean by "whatever"...if you have no intent on messing with audio, don't extract the Sound BSA file, etc.

Do you know where I can get the BSA files for New Vegas?

Well, you obviously have to have New Vegas installed.

New Vegas installs to where ever you installed Steam.

The default location is C:\Program Files\Steam\, however, it is recommended you install Steam outside of "Program Files" such as C:\Games\Steam or D:\Steam. This will be referred to as the "Steam Dir"

The BSA files can be found here:

<Steam Dir>\SteamApps\Common\Fallout New Vegas\Data\*.bsa

Thank you for this extremely helpful tutorial.

Also, I just want everyone who comes looking here for Fo3 help to know that this tutorial (and the program(s)) work EXACTLY the same for New Vegas.

The *bsa is not there but I have the files saved under programs>Steam>Steamapps>Common>FalloutNV>Data .ext. Would that make any difference?

And what application can you use to open a BSA file?

And lastly were can I find that tutorial of yours? :P

Thx: Atomic

The BSA files should be under the "Data" sub-folder. If it is not there, then you do not have it installed...or it is installed somewhere else. Find out where your New Vegas executable is located and the "Data" folder should be located under that.

Eh...that is what this tutorial covered. The program is called FO3 Archive.
