BrambletheKhajiit
Hi. I'm not sure if the information I'm looking for is posted elsewhere but I haven't seen to find it so I apologize in advance if my questions are redundant While I was away at school my NMM seems to be tanked (the mod orders are completely ruined and it doesn't appear to be starting my games anymore. In case it's relevant I use it for Skyrim and Fallout: NV) and thus I can't seem to use anymore, so I imagine if I want to resume playing I will need to switch over to Vortex. However, my situation is complicated by the fact that back in the day when I was young and I manually downloaded all of my mods because for some reason (I've never been able to get the Nexus Downloader to ever work in the many years I've been playing these games for, I don't know why), so I mostly just have been using the NMM for load order management among other things (which I'm aware is probably stupid and cuts out a portion of what a mod manager is for but in my defense I downloaded most of these when I was younger and less knowledgeable.) At first I thought Vortex wasn't recognizing the mods at all but have now found they're all showing up..under plugins. I'm not exactly sure where to go from there as this cuts out most of the "switch over guide" information that I've found and I'm too scared to do much because, again, these saves are really old and I don't want to start over. Would anyone have any advice to get me untangled from this mess? What would I need to do to switch over? Is there any way to make Vortex properly recognize my mods not as plugins? Pickysaurus
Vortex will see the plugins for your mods because they're still installed with NMM. The best move you can make is to uninstall all mods via NMM, then run the "Import from" in the mods tab of Vortex to pull the archives across. If you've been using NMM for years it's probably work completely deleting your game folders and reinstalling from Steam/GOG. NMM tends to leave a lot of "junk" behind which will cause problems when trying to use a more modern mod manager.
BrambletheKhajiit
Thank you for the help! The uninstall isn't working though on NMM and neither is import on Vortex; when I try to uninstall the mods it just does nothing and Vortex couldn't find them. Would completely deleting/reinstalling it and then redownloading the mods then be fine or would I need to have the mods uninstalled first to safely uninstall the game? (Probably a silly question but just checking to be sure, I haven't done this before.)
Pickysaurus
If the import doesn't work, best thing would be to start fresh. You can take the archives (.zip/.7z/.rar) that NMM downloaded and put them in Vortex's download folder
burbigo1
You should start from the beginning, it may work. VPN Sai Mannat AnyDesk
