“Normal armor stats and CBBE/Bodyslide

Hey all, I have played FO4 for years on Ps4. I recently started playing and modding on pc.

There is one thing Iâm trying to find out concerning cbbe and bodyslide.

I have created a good body and use vtaws utility armor (awesome btw!).

However I want to start a hardcore survival playthrough but with a hot looking character (not immersive i know lol). I will need good armor. My question is how do you all do this?

I want to use armorsmith extended to hide armor. But will this not unequip my player outfit? How do you all ise armor like the combat armor when wearing a bodyslide outfit which has its own armor pieces already?

Hope someone can shed some light on this!

Thank you

Heyas Dave! I also started out on this game with the PS4, and have since moved to the PC. Welcome to the dark side! (And to modding freedom!)

Ok, so what I'm reading, is that you want to for example... wear one of the vtaw outfits, with regular armor over the top of it?

If this is what you are asking, what you will need to do, is set the vtaw clothing set up as underarmor. I wrote up a tutorial on how to do it for this guy, here.

https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/8142703-customizable-deadpool-outfit/?

There may be a tad bit of differences, between the armor slots and pieces, I dunno, I have downloaded, but not installed the Vtaw set. But the gyst of it is pretty much the same. Basically all you have to do is convert the body slot that it uses to a (U) slot.

Hope this helps :)

Armorsmith extended will have an option for armor to be invisible while you wear it. Meaning you get all the stats from it, but can choose whatever armor/outfit you wish to wear. so you could basically prounce around in a bikini and still have 300 armor. Although most of that will come from ballistic weave.

Yes, thats why I said I want to use AE to hide it. Thats not the issue, my question was how to still use the slots i used up with the outfit ;)

Heyas Dave! No problem, yeah there's a program that you'll need to download and install, so that you can change some of the settings for the armor/clothes.

If you have any problems or questions, definitely feel free to ask :)

Aeons - good recommendation :) Just so that you know, if you're talking to somebody who doesn't want to use AE, or Can't (because of the dlc requirements) Unified Clothing Overhaul (UCO) will also change almost all the vanilla clothes to underarmor, as well as be able to set armor as invisible. There's also a mod https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/5511 which is standalone to do it too. But it's not compatible with either of the more extensive mods.

UCO and AE are cross compatible, but UCO needs to go lower in the LO, or AE will override it. Both do a lot of the same things, but UCO allows some clothes (and the pip boy) to change colors. UCO conflicts with some of the custom Legendary mods tho, if the other mods uses the same legendary (not custom) slot.

Iâm actually quite familiar with xedit and also creation kit. I made some mods for ps4 for myself (never released).

The one thing Iâm wondering with this method you gave tho is will it actually solve my question?

The OP was asking for one suit and a mask. However, for example Vtaw Utility has 1. Pants 2. Shoes 3. Gloves 4. Arm sleeves 5. Top harness with shoulder pads 6. Belt 7. Mask and more. There are like 7 or 8 things to equip at one time for the full outfit.

Even if I would make all those into underarmor, it would still only allow me to equip 1 under armor correct? That means I will still miss 6 to 7 pieces and then on top of that the actually invisible armor I want to add to each slot.

I really wonder how people do this. Or is everyone just playing godmode after beating the game to level 100 and running around in these outfits?

I realize that maybe it isnât possible and I should just face it that in the survival playthrough I want to do it wont be possible to wear these outfits if I want to survive.

That would kinda suck as as you know ps4 players are very limited with mods and I can finally have that sexy supermodel surviving the wastelands... I dreamed about this day. And now I realize it wont be possible..? Lol

I was hoping that with the thousands of mods for pc there was atleast one which let bodyslide users wear all invisible armor they wanted on top of their outfits...

Heyas Dave! Ah, cool. So saves me some time typing out some of the explanations :)

Ok, so from what you're saying, the differences between the clothes you're working with, and the ones from that other post, is that the ones you're working with, don't use multiple slots on the body.

I'll have to open up the mod, and take a look at what slots the accessories are set to use. To see if they have a (U) version of that body slot available.

But I do know that anything that uses the Head, Arm (either of them) chest, pants, leg (either of them) or the feet slots can be used for underarmor slots.

If it was a complete outfit, that took up all of those slots, like the guy with the deadpool suit, yeah. Only one UA. However, as long as you don't have 2 items trying to use the same slot, it will be compatible. Like for example, if a bandolier uses the neck slot and if a set of glasses uses the glasses slot, they're still compatible.

It's only when two items are trying to fight over the same slot.

Ok I'm looking at the esp for the vtaw utility set.

So far, I see one potential conflict. The high heel boots are set to use 33 body. Which there is no U slot for. Any armor that uses that slot, will not be compatible. However, most armors that use that slot are full suits. Such as the RailRoad armors (armored longcoats) some of the BoS stuff, and costumy types armor that would pretty much cover up everything that you're wanting to show off anyway.

Now, there are a couple of pieces in here that use Unnamed slots. Those should not be a problem and can be left alone as long as the armor pieces you're using don't use up that slot. Which stuff like combat armor, synth armor, leather armor, etc doesn't. Tho I didn't check any of the DLC armor. Wasn't thinking, and didn't load them up with the Fo4.esm. My bad :(

For the most part, I don't see anything that would cause any conflicts, other than there's one piece that uses the beard, and one that uses the mouth. Those might conflict with any kind of gas mask or face mask that you might want to use.

Cases like that, you really can't do much to change the slots, as doing that will make them invisible.
