Jin Roh Power Armor

I read a comment on the Somethingawful forums Fallout 3 modding topic about this and thought it was an awesome idea. The game is in desperate need of Jin-Roh armor (from the movie Jin-Roh - The Wolf Brigade). It's badass looking and just looks like it'd fit in properly with the current power armors.

Oh my god, someone please do this. The Kerberos Panzer Cop armour is one of my absolute favourite armours from any genre.

And if the person who makes the mod just so happens to go for completeness and add the MG-42 from the anime version complete with the unique firing sound of the 7.92 ammunition (as heard in Aliens when the smart guns are firing or in the anime "Jin Roh: The Wolf Brigade") then I would be SO happy. ^.^

The sounds heard in Aliens is nothing like the actual firing of an MG42 or MG3, that sound was edited quite extensively to give it that futuristic sound, same as the Pulse Rifles (which in reality were dressed-up Thompsons).

While Jin Roh is a lot more technically accurate with guns than most Anime I've ever seen, the Japanese don't exactly have real-life MG42's to record to make the soundtrack accurately true-to-life. Even Gunsmith Cats is seriously lacking in this respect.

The sound isn't affected by the ammo nearly as much as you'd think, particularly in that situation. Having fired an MG-42 in both 7.92 Mauser and 7.62 NATO (courtesy of an MG3 kit), I can say that with authority.

Honestly, it fires so fast (1200 rpm or so.. 20 rounds a second) that it sounds more like hell's chainsaw than a gun, in a lot of respects. I can't even imagine being on the receiving end of one. Videos you can find on youtube can hint at the fire rate, but the sound itself is totally different to hear in person.

But given that rate of fire, I also strongly doubt it'd fit kindly into FO3 without a hell of a huge change to the way ammo is found.

The MG3, the updated version of the MG42, fires 7.62x51 at a similar prodigious rate and .308 (7.62x51 in US nomenclature, basically) is already 3-4 caps a shot and very rarely ever found.

For what its worth, Saving Private Ryan had some of the best gunfire audio of anything I've ever heard - but they used cyclic rate reducers in the MG42's to slow down the fire rate for some reason. :(

As for the Jin-Roh armor, it needs to have way less leathery/cloth stuff especially in the legs and arms if it's gonna pass as Power Armor. Plus the red-glowing eyes would be way too archetypical and lame. What works in Anime doesn't really work for the wasteland in general.
