Deleted2993601User
I have mostly always done the stealthy archer w/ knife assassin kinda type but it's starting to get a bit boring. I had in mind the Mage way, and my main focuses will be destruction, conjuration and restoration (maybe slight alteration), and my side focuses will be enchanting and alchemy (and smithing for jewelry). I don't say no to Necromantic style either. How would you suggest I'd split the level-up points? (or clicks as I call them) Health is of course appreciated to an extent, if things turn bloody if my magicka isn't replenishing fast enough. Stamina not so much. Magicka a lot, but not super much, right? I mean, at a higher level and with the right equipment, even the stronger spells wont cost that much (except maybe fire storm)
Passb
It's really up to your own play style on how you allocate your "level-up" points. If you play a more reserved style using companions or conjurations, I would say stick to upgrading magicka primarily early on. If you're more of an aggressive spell-caster I would focus on alternating health and magicka upgrades at each level. My first playthrough in Skyrim I played a destruction oriented mage, and dual casting spells at a higher levels will drain your magicka faster than you think. Even with upgrading magicka at every level up I was still running out, even with buffs and regen.
Deleted2993601User
In the beginning, I'll mostly go full out destruction, so I'll alternate health and magicka with a click at either each level. EDIT: Also, does the choice of race matter that much? I understand high elves are "the best" magic bonus wise but I hate most altmer. I am currently playing as a female Ashen. I don't like to play as anything but humans. Edited November 17, 2012 by Guest

If you're going to be using a lot of destruction spells dark elf wouldn't hurt. Plus ancestor's wrath is a pretty unique and useful racial skill for dark elves, especially if you're going for the more aggressive caster type. I'm pretty sure they get +10 starting bonus to destruction and they are resistant to fire magics as well.

A plus is that the female Ashen is pretty cute. When playing, I play mostly in third-person so I don't wanna look at some ghastly orch's backside, or a petite elf. I believe it's based on the Nord body, so I'm pretty sure it comes with whatever bonuses the Nord race has.

jack013
i just keep some scrolls (they forgot to add some into the game though) and a staff or two, then you don't need as much magika 24/7.
