Area transition problems...

Hi all. I'm not sure what exactly happened to cause this problem, but it just seemed to randomly pop up out of nowhere. The problem is whenever I try to fast travel or make an area transition the load screen comes up as normal and just... stays there. It will cycle through the tips and tricks, but it just never ends. When I alt+tab out it says the game is not responding. I'm not sure what it is causing this, as I've very few mods, but I will list them.

Have you used BOSS for load order? If not, that could be your problem.

Just tried the BOSS program. It rearranged my mods, but I'm still having the exact same problem. :(

 

Also. I tried cleaning the .esm files with TES5 edit. I followed the video instructions exactly. I tried repairing the files via steam. And I even tried using the files dxsetup, vcredist_x86, and the DotNetFx in the skyrim folder.

 

I have tried a clean reinstall. No good there either.

Infinite loads are occasionally caused by having your fps limited to exactly 30 or 60...if you do limit your fps, you might want to change the value a bit.

More often they are caused by memory issues or mod conflicts. Did you read the log that BOSS generated? There may be warnings or other messages that could help you. Also, did you have any mods BOSS didn't recognize? If so, you may need to place them by hand (usually its enough to place unsorted mods with similar mods that have been sorted---armor with armor, houses with houses, etc.

 

I am wondering at your use of the community uncapper---I use that, because I also use Skyre, which requires it. Are you using it on it's own? Did you make adjustments to the values? It might be that for some reason a change you made there is causing Skyrim to hang.

 

Have you doublechecked to make sure all of your mods are the correct version for your patch?

 

Finally, is it possible that you had a mod like SKyMo, War in Skyrim, Sounds of Skyrim, UFO, etc, that can cause leftover scripts if not uninstalled properly (or in somecases even if uninstalled properly)? It seems like there have been a few cases of orphaned scripts making it through attempts to do a clean reinstall, and wreaking continued havoc. The STEP guide has instructions for reverting to vanilla, which include specific files and folders to address.

 

Also, Bben's mod troubleshooting guidecan walk you through an very thorough investigation of your mods for problems. Painful but effective.

My problem isn't really a transition issue "per se". MY problem is when I enter Castle Volkihar with Serana for the first time, every vampire there attacks me on sight, and I can't even fight back! My weapons stay sheathed and Serana starts fighting them for me! I've got a vast library of active mods, but this is the only problem I've seen so far. Here's a few of my mods: Created race compatability, Better vampires, Vampire lord flying, Vampire eyes fix, Vampire eyes, Better vampire lord transformations, Lunari race. (I am not using Lunari. I am Imperial.) Please tell me there's a mod that fixes this! I can't find one. Help! If I can just meet Harkon for the first time this problem should go away.
