heyimviet12
When I first got skse64 it worked fine I did the getskseversion and all of that but after I tried to relaunch through skse64_loader.exe I start the program but nothing seems to pop up in my tabs or my screen. But I check steam that I am running skyrim and my task manager that I am running skyrim. But nothing is on my screen and I see no tabs.
JimmyRJump
Never heard of the "getskseversion" thing. You need to check your game version by right-clicking on the game's exe, choose properties and check 'Product Version' on the Details tab. Then go to silverlock to get the version of skse you need. Download, unpack and drag 'n' drop the two dll files, the 'Scr' and 'Data' folders and the skse64_loader.exe into your game's install folder, and start the game with the skse64_loader.exe. The only thing that should 'pop-up' is the game. No tabs or anything. You seem completely misinformed about skse and what to do. If you have the latest version of the game (v1.5.97) then you need skse version 2.0.17. If the game doesn't launch, you did something wrong. shumkar
getskseversion is a Skyrim console command that is being used for checking if SKSE is installed correctly. However, this is not quite right: "That command doesn't indicate whether SKSE64 was installed completely/correctly. If a user forgets to copy the contents of the folder ../Data/Scripts, getskseversion will still output the version number correctly; indicating nothing is wrong. Yet SKSE64 will not have any functionality. This only shows that the .dll files and .exe were copied correctly." https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/170#issuecomment-537272025 Sure, it does not "pop up", it just displays a version number in console. Not that I know all the time, mind, but I bloody well know what version of the game I'm playing at any given time and what version of skse to use. Granted, the console command is a nice feature for checking, but totally unneeded as such things need to be checked BEFORE you start the game. shumkar
I am personally used to check the SKSE version on Esc screen (Tab "System"). At least with SkyUI installed it's always there, at the bottom left corner. As I understand, it does not mean either that SKSE was installed correctly, just the same as getskseversion but without console. such things need to be checked BEFORE you start the game. Agreed. ...There are more reliable ways to check if SKSE works correctly. To launch SkyUI, for example. It performs a bunch of requests to SKSE; if something is wrong, it will be seen by SkyUI errors/wrong behavior. Or to launch Racemenu (mod).
