jaysus
so before we get mod conflicts without end i thought it would be kinda useful if those of us that create items and place em at merchants would tell the world which one is going to be theirs... Id like to take Moira but if thats a problem im also happy with seagrave holmes so post your wish here and lets see if we can come to an agreement :) Id also suppose that we add a suffix to our mods which indicates that our mods are compatible with each other in regards to loot tables - my proposition: COM for "commonwealth of modders" or "compatibility"e.g. JaySuSSlouchModCOM if a mod could sticky this once a few modders join our common cause it would be appreciated very much -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Modder // Vendor-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- JAySuS // Moira or SeagraveVashts1985 // Flak & Shrapnel

Omnimmotus
I... don't really think there are enough shops in the game world for this to work. I think it'll have to be a mod specific thing. There are probably less than two dozen shops in Fallout 3, and I know there's more than two dozen modders on here. Not to mention, whoever gets Moira gets the most accessible shop in the game, bar none. Theoretically, though, you could add to their inventory by putting the item in a container, setting ownership of it to them, and then putting it as a reference in the Cell they do their shop from. This is how it was done without conflict in Oblivion, though I don't know how easy to do it is in FOMM/TESSnip. This is the kind of thing we could really use a CS for. (One of the many.) Then it would be easy, and there would be no incompatibility issues. (Using the container method.)
Moraelin
Not only that, but the travelling ones routinely run into deathclaws, yao gaui or muties, and get killed. I've seen Doc Wossname and his merc get shredded by a Deathclaw at least once before I could intervene. So whoever gets one of those has a very unreliable shop :/ Well, luckily we can also use other containers, though. There seem to be at least a dozen unique ones. Anyway, so far I used Sydney and Chief Gustavo for my weapons, and Karl for Alexscorpion's silenced G3. I'll try to refrain from hogging any more of them :/ Edit: as for Moira, well, personally I explicitly don't want her. I like my stuff to be upgrades found later in the game, rather than baseline equipment available in the very first town. So I don't mind someone else getting her. Moraelin
Actually, you know what would rule? If we had some utility (maybe FOMM?) which can automatically merge changes to the same container from several mods. Then each could just think up his own vendors, and we could tell the users to download the utility to install/manage them.

But it doesn't seem all that easy to place one without a CS :/
3rdtryguy
I'm glad you guys at least thought of this. I was going to make a post pleading for the modders to stop messing around with established merchants, since we're already running into conflicts. What good are a hundred fantastic mods if we can only use a small handful? Some modders have even put their stuff in many merchant inventories simultaneously, needlessly ruining the extra merchants for use by other mods. Once the CS is out next week, try making new merchants or merging mods to work together. OH! I just had a wild idea. How about a wasteland shopping center? Yes, it sounds crazy, but how about a mod that places a little shopping center somewhere, full of new merchants. The modders could then work together from the start to carefully place their stuff in these new merchant inventories and merge them so they all work. veliv
I doubt that this will be a issue after the CS is released :) Atleast I hope it will not be :D
SpeedyB64
Someone here should write a tutorial on how to add a container and link it to a merchant this would solve a lot of issues with mod conflicts.
