is there a tool to edit your existing character without losing it's current setup?? Something EASY to use?

Not sure if this is the kind of thing you mean or not mate but give this a try - Modder Resource - Easy NPC Creation.

 

I've been using this for a while and it works really well to help tweak characters or create templates for NPC followers you can edit in CK or NPC Editor.

 

Had no issues with it at all, in fact it works better for me than the showracemenu command.

wasn't QUITE what I was looking for but there is a mod Change race menu that will when active give you a skill under your "power" list that does similiar save your stats etc - I will say tho I used your links and the lighting in the cave helped out a ton! THanks both for the replies - man i have to get some sleep lol

The cave was nice for lighting - the only thing I was looking for that it didn't really have was a way to start off editing my character as it was without losing what I had already - so just tweak what i already had in place - meh kind of hard to set something up to do that i suppose if you think about what you have to do to read in any possible variation of what type of character your mod might be dealing with
