Yes, we were the experimental clones created by the GeniusThirteen who were natural born, but genetically engineered, humans; they were also crazy! They had created the JaeiouThirteen. We were the JaeiouThirteen. We were thirteen in one and we were amazing, super genius and yet we were also erratic. In that we reflected the true nature of our creators. When the Terraforming of Mars began to go horribly wrong, with out permission the GeniusThirteen had undertaken a special project. This was done at the site of a great ancient alien artifact, the very one that Sarah Lyons had found beneath the Grand Centropolis Mall, along with her platoon of Lyons Pride Special Forces Troopers. It was called the 'Cylinder Chamber' out of simplicity and as a name that did not automatically give any real information to any who saw it. It was there that the GeniusThirteen melded the JaeiouThirteen into the ancient alien artifact and then had them utilize an extensive super virtual reality program, along with the AAA, to both stop the Terraforming Crisis and to create a new, improved Mars. Except not all had gone as planned; the AAA would not be so easily controlled and it appeared that the JaeiouThirteen betrayed their purpose and did something against the wishes of the GeniusThirteen. I did not remember much more than scattered moments of clarity and a great deal of agony of mind, body and spirit. The results were strange! Mars was transformed into a world that had undergone its own Doomsday and which was largely shaped by a massive super virtual reality network game known as Fallout Mars. The fiction became reality including a very real history going back centuries. By human terms this was impossible; it was far from impossible when it came to the ancient super technologies of the mysterious AncientLords. Fallout Mars, the Marslands, was real being the Havenlands, the Doomlands and the Wastelands with some other, smaller areas having their own designations. Clarity, though it was far from total clarity, brought some comfort despite the memories of betrayal and pain that were brought back. For I had the strong impression that it had not been we JaeiouThirteen that had done any betrayal but one, or some, of the GeniusThirteen itself. I was regaining my old identity as Jaeiou but I was not sure that I wanted to be that one; I had doubts that I would be given a choice in the matter even as I became more, and more, Jaeiou of the JaeiouThirteen. Maharg67
0085: I WAS JACKOMAN Returning to the Wastelands was smoother, easier, now that there was a PowerRing melded around my head like white gold in appearance. It was thin and normally invisible to most observers. I was soon moving from the teleport arrival point, making my way through Zhouls' End towards where the Eye had reported Sarah Lyons finding an ancient, alien artifact. It was the very same artifact that a reemerging Jaeiou had remembered as the spot where the GeniusThirteen, and JaeiouThirteen, had been part of some crazy attempt to save Mars from a Terraforming project gone bad; or was that the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth? The rhouler, that had been with me before, was settled into living with moved peoples in one of the RingBase Domelands. I had not wished to bring him back into danger. The PowerRing enhanced, augmented and refined my growing powers so I moved in stealth fashion through haphazard, part devastated, underground areas. Everything living had fled from the threat of vireclaws, and other monsters, but now many had returned from radroaches to more rhouls to some very odd creatures of kinds unique to the area. A big mutated glow-worm crawled past, at one stage, pausing only to devour a juicy radroach that failed to flee quickly enough. I swam swiftly through a long, water filled, tunnel past a sunken subway train filled with long drowned commuters. It was far from a nice sight to take in but far too typical of the Mars Wastelands. I found a sunken subway station and, through the station, found a way up and out of the water. Past a pair of long destroyed protectrons, I walked, and then I found some more recently killed ghoulers. Ghoulers were berserker radhumans (more human like ghouls), like zhouls who could use guns and other weapons. In many ways they were worse than zhouls and there only saving grace was that they were a relative minority. Yet I almost pitied the berserker killers for they had clearly died a horrific death. They had been drained of life energies, blood and liquified flesh. Had he-she-it done this? The psychic impressions I picked up, at the massacre scene, were weak and fragmented. It did not help that other ghoulers had come to loot the dead bodies of equipment and other goodies, before fleeing from a threat that was beyond their power to handle. I found a great chamber where a massive humanoid had crossed, the clawed foot marks sunken into very hard super-concrete. Yes, at least one aspect of he-she-it had passed that way and there was a strong psychic reside of evil to be 'sensed' there. Also a great battle had taken place with great burn marks, melted areas of metal walls and even scorched areas of super-concrete flooring. Something had fought the evil, as connected to we JaeiouThirteen, and had been defeated. The defeated forces had fled but I picked up strong psychic impressions of three massive robotic humanoids. They were like huge toy robots but far more lethal. They had been self-repairing and had gone away damaged but far from destroyed by their violent confrontation with he-she-it. I did not follow the traces left by either force but continued to head towards the ancient alien artifact that the Lyons Pride had discovered. Maharg67
0086: I WAS JACKOMAN The amazing finds, that I had previously encountered, were followed by a long run through fairly typical underground environments, by Wastelands standards. I encountered some rhouls and, as I had done since returning from the RingBase, I sent them to the RingBase. They would go through a testing-transformation, of sorts, and would end up being resettled in one of the Domelands. Many Wastelanders tended to go to one great Domeland that was like an improved, nicer version of the Wastelands known as the Greenlands. The Greenlands had no toxic wastes, no excessive radiation or other such threats. The lands were fertile and covered with greenery be it forests or grasses or some other kind. The rivers were clean. Food was plentiful. The 'ruins' were in much better condition and there were many well functioning LifeVaults and other forms of settlements. People were more comfortable in a more familiar environment and so were other lifeforms both sent and changed. Saving rhouls, and others, was not just a matter of compassion for the Ringdom of Domelands benefited from increased life existing inside itself. I had to admit I did not understand how this worked but hoped that I would do so one day. I also sent certain non-living items to RingBase; this was done for many reasons and while I understood some of them, others were beyond my understanding. Damaged robots made sense but why rotting, burned or otherwise damaged books? It was only later I would learn that such books could be rejuvenated in an amazing manner and be almost returned to their original pristine state. That meant much lost knowledge, works of fiction and other data was being salvaged.Yet there were other reasons for gaining the books. After making my way along a highway-subway tunnel, I cam upon a whole collection of atomic motorized cars, trucks, buses and other vehicles including some armored military machines. Many such convoys had tried to escape from the doom of Doomsday but the great majority had failed as that one had done. It was only then that I 'sensed' that there were no bodies in the convoy, no remains of bodies, or around the convoy; this was odd though far from rare an event. Then I met 'them' and only could do so because of the PowerRing, my linkage to the RingOfRings and the Ringdom as centered by the RingBase. They were standing around the convoy or sitting or lying down as if sleeping but were not sleeping but in a sleep like state. They were men, women, children along with some animals that had been in the convoy. They were not ghosts, as in the dead, but phantoms as those suspended between life and death. They were not of the undead or unlifen, those being intrusions from other dimensional realms. Somehow they were the minds, bodies and spirits of the lifeforms that had been in the convoy seeking safety. Just how many other such phantoms were there in the Mars Wastelands? Billions of people had vanished and it was always said that not enough bodies, or remains, had been found. Many had speculated on this and there had many many ideas expressed but none had been fully satisfactory. Then they were vanished to me even as I got the strong idea that the more 'merged' with the RingOfRings I became, the more chance there was I could save the Phantoms of the Marslands. I followed the highway-subway for a while, passing more vehicles but not observing any more phantoms though I vaguely 'sensed' the presence of some at least twice. After a while I 'rejuvenated' a large, powerful, atomic motorized motorbike and was soon riding quickly along the highway-subway while conserving my energies. The motorbike was surprisingly quiet but louder than myself, if I had been moving on my feet, so I had to be very watchful for danger. There were some 'threats' but none capable of doing me harm. Nor did any seem interested in trying to do so for they 'sensed' my power. Thus a pack of killclaws, smaller cousins to deathclaws, moved back away from me and a huge muttbear (radmutant bear) actually trotted out of my way though he growled at me anyway. I kept on moving until I had to abandon the motorbike, it had been fun but I needed to leave the highway-subway and go through ways it could not go, then I was once more seeking the Great Cylinder Chamber in a more direct fashion. Maharg67
0087: I WAS JACKOMAN The dalek fired off a powerful pulsebeam from its pulseblaster minicannon and, even as I dived behind a slowly rusting rail-robot, I felt it come to close to my armored self. Daleks were squat cones, something like the space-capsules used during the early colonization of Mars and other space missions. Each had small golden dome shaped bumps running horizontally around them, a main scan-rod, a pulseblaster minicannon, two manipulator arms that could vanish into their bodies and other devices. With the hovering daleks came dalek controlled hairy humanoids in body-armor known as ogrons; naturally of low intelligence, they were enhanced of intelligence and otherwise augmented. They ran across the big area of the chamber, firing off bullets from their battlerifles. Battlerifles were designed to be used with power armor but, like supermutants and some others, ogrons were strong enough to use battlerifles with out power armor assistance. Daleks? Ogrons? I found that, somehow, I knew about them but wondered how, why, they were in the Marslands. The daleks were hover-daleks but through the air came sleeker, saucer shaped air-daleks. As they came they unleashed pulseblaster pulsebeams but also lots of very small missiles. I phase jumped, vanishing and reappearing some metres away, even as the chunky metallic rail-robot exploded dramatically and violently. My powers were growing, in various ways, but so far I could only phase-jump for fairly short distances and not through walls. I dropped down an almost vertical tube of super-concrete and when I landed on more super-concrete, far below, energy exploded away from my booted feet as I redirected kinetic energy in a harmless manner. Later I would be able to utilize that kinetic energy though I did not know how I knew this. The crazy mishmash 3D area was, hopefully, going to allow me allow me to escape from the daleks and their ogrons. Running across the chamber, I turned once and destroyed an air-dalek even as it came zipping out of the end of the tube, it poking out of the ceiling of the big boxy chamber. Around me were machines, all of them on the backs of huge vehicles or trailers. Some were easily identified as atomic generators, computer mainframes, electrical regulation devices and other such but a few were exotic and some were very exotic. =-= You have come to the outskirts of the ancient alien complex in which the Cylinder Chamber is at the center of. Jackoman: Do you have any idea how daleks, and ogrons, happen to be here? =-= No, I do not have enough data to answer that question. By the way they reacted to your surprise appearance, I suggest that they were placed here to stop anybody, anything, from getting into or out of the ancient alien complex. Another air-dalek shot into the chamber and came after me, darting over the line of vehicles. I took it out with a minimissile, causing it to explode above an atomic generator but there was no harm of that causing more danger. Yet even as the air-dalek was destroyed, something of amazing power struck out at me and destroyed me. Even as I disintegrated I felt angry because I felt that I had failed my mission; even though I would return to existence, one day, I thought it would be a long time to come in the future. I had forgotten about my PowerRing and the RingOfRings. I would only take about three days to return to full existence.
Maharg67
0088: I WAS ??? Out of amusement I had created daleks, along with ogrons, as solid illusions and then I had destroyed Jackoman in a moment of annoyance. Now I was peeved for Jackoman, a mere secondary of the JaeiouThirteen, was merging with a PowerRing and he was going to return soon. Such a thing seemed unfair. Mere secondaries should not have been so bad mannered as to survive; they should have staid destroyed when I destroyed them. Another annoying factor was the realization that my good aspect was acting with out me, with out my consent, and was out there actually doing good. Really, how rude! Indeed it was my good side that had helped Sarah Lyons, and the rest of the Lyons Pride, escape from me. I was in the Grand Cylinder Chamber, the very place I had been born on Mars Doomsday. Or was that reborn? My existence was also linked with the older Earth Doomsday that had forced so many people to escape to Mars with the Great Space Exodus. I stood contemplating the massive majestic nature of the ancient alien artifact that the GeniusThirteen had tried to use, as they had tried to use the JaeiouThirteen, to save Mars from a runaway Terraforming process but also to reshape Mars to their will so they could rule it as they saw fit. They had been trying to betray humanity and the future of Mars; it amused me that it had gone crashing into their faces. I did not know what had happened to the GeniusThirteen and did not care to try to learn. If they became a threat I was very certain I could deal with them. Playing with reality was fun but even I knew you had to be careful. What next? What was I to do next in my grand plan? It was then that the strange voices spoke to me, at the back of my mind, and I listened carefully though I was not fully aware of them or their true nature. They told me what I would do and, more or less, I intended to do just that. Edited February 5, 2013 by Maharg67
Maharg67
0089: I WAS THE EYE Nine destroyers slipped fast along the DC River, sleek and fast, bristling with weaponry and other advanced technologies. Missiles shot through the air, from shore batteries to the west, and exploded as anti-missiles struck them in mid air. The destroyers were coming from the ocean and were flying the banners and symbols of the EagleEnclave. These were not of the Marsclave though they had once been so but were now enemies of the Marsclave. They had not existed before the last big reality shift had taken place and neither had the fairly large ocean eastwards of the DC. Pulselaser-guns spat out pulsebeams, as did shorter range but more powerful pulseblaster-guns. Autocannons roared as they fired off volleys of caseless 20mm and 40mm shells. When the Marsclave began to betray its womb born humans, and others, to replace them with more easily controlled clones, it did so treacherously but it failed to destroy many of its former followers. Thus rose independence revolutions in some of the biggest Marsclave Enclaves and one of the biggest was the EagleEnclave. The EagleEnclave had once battled the Brotherhood of Steel but now offered an alliance with the DC Orders of Steel along with others. The EagleEnclave was greatly changed from its old self, was freer, was no longer under the insane influence of the Marsclave and yet only desperate need had the alliance being automatically agreed to. For the EagleEnclave knew that somehow, with out any real explanation, the Marsclave had suddenly grown much larger, more powerful and deadlier; it had also gained lethal new allies like the Cyberclave and even the supposedly dysfunctional deactivated Skynet. This information was new to the Orders of Steel, and other DC Factions, was a terrible shock but it did explain a wide range of events, and trends, that had been taking place. EagleEnclave troop-ships followed, as sleek and fast as the destroyers but less well armed. On their edges were gun-ships that were troop-ships with more weapons and less troops, along with other military stuff. They cut through the water with powerful gracefulness of hitech machines. Attacking them was a local Marsclave Pact Force, allies to the Marsclave, being a mixture of tribal raiders, mercenaries and a core force of actual Marsclaven Auxiliaries. To the Marsclave they were expendable trash but they were far too foolish and fearful to realize just how much they were being used; one day the Marsclaven, the Marsclave Government, would betray them and destroy them if they were still surviving by then and had not wised up. Orders of Steel jumpjets shot across the sky, quiet and deadly, dropping clusterbombs and other destructive ordinance. The Pact Forces had only a couple of old helicopters and did not even try to fly them, knowing they would be blown out of the air for no good reason. The deadly jumpjet fighters had only enough charge to do one big bombing run and then had to turn back towards their base. Yet it was enough as explosions flashed in long lines of brown smoke and red fire. The enemies were far from destroyed but they were heavily damaged and no longer focused on attacking the EagleEnclave ships but in surviving. The convoy went beyond the reach of the enemies. The Fliers of Steel jumpjets were gone. Three off-white parachute-canisters landed amongst the still shaken up Pact Forces. It seemed they had a change of luck. In two other places, three parachute-canisters landed. Apart from some more exotic items, they were filled with basic survival stuff.
Maharg67
0090: I WAS THE EYE Since the sudden rise of President Allman, and the struggles at Republicia ending in the exodus of many people, had led to a weakening of the New DC Republic. Except that there arose the People's DC Republic, the PDCR, as the Loyalists strove to cut themselves away from Allman and his cronies, along with his puppets. President Allman was a DominatorLords, or Dominator, of the DominatorThirteen; that information was becoming more commonly known. Many escaped from Republicia and ended up in Freedoria. There they were safe but also could be 'vetted' to discover infiltrators known to be amongst them; this process had begun and over fifty such infiltrators had already been caught but not any of the more dangerous kinds. In Sugartown the strange off-white parachute-canister was in locked storage, along with about half of its basic and all of its more 'special items'. Republican Guardsmen guarded it but had not investigated it, not having the specialized equipment or skills to do so. In a small, underground, storeroom were the items. The excellent copies of med-x, medikits, basic survival rifles, ammo, survival knives, MREs, C-Rations, flare-pistols and much else, were in a big unlocked locker. The survival armor jumpsuits were in another locker along with two pulselaser-pistols but this locker was firmly locked. The more exotic items of a strange helmet like device, a strange backpack like device and a pair of glove like devices, were in a large safe, a heavy metal shape with a thick door and good locks. The TallThinMan stepped out of mid air, with a soft shimmering, and quickly, carefully, efficiently stole the items in the safe and all of the items in the locked locker before he took about a quarter of the items from the unlocked locker. He only wanted the things from the safe but wanted to confuse the evidence, wanted it to look like some kind of clever robbery but nothing more than that. He made items vanish by touching them. Touching the exotic items, in the safe, brought a soft frown of concern to his face. The TallThinMan touched a rock wall and part of it collapsed to reveal a long forgotten tunnel. This would be the explanation for how a thief, or thieves, got into the chamber. The tunnel ended in a long forgotten, rusty hatch that was partly open. There would be no tracks. He decided that the locals needed to have some sort of mystery to encounter. The TallThinMan vanished with a soft shimmering. About an hour later the door opened and in came officers in combat fatigues, along with their military bodyguards, of NCOs and privates. They stared in surprise at the open lockers and safe, at the one empty locker and empty safe. A cold eyed woman stepped forward and frowned hard. She was attractive, youthful looking but her eyes suggested she was not very young. She was blonde, slimly muscular, lightly voluptuous and she was very exotic in her own right. She looked over the chamber as if doing so in a more than 'normal' manner. Then she spoke. "The hole in the wall is a false clue. The one who came, stole items, and then left did so by some form of very sophisticated teleportation. We have come just too late, thanks to the interruptions to our mission caused by the increasingly troubled DC Wastelands. We will return to Ambrassa with what information we have managed to gather along with some sample items. We will need to take the parachute-canister with us." The local commander looked embarrassed. "We converted it into a toiletroom and it is embedded in concrete with some other 'big' changes done to it." Samantha Lockley frowned but then snorted, and nodded. "Very efficient of you! It seems we will be going with out the parachute-canister. There will be no complaints as you were given no orders about not using the canister, as you should have been. President Allman's madness has caused much disruption in the command and communications systems. We will rest, have a meal, and depart." There was something about Samantha Lockley, and her companions, that caused the locals to be wary of them, even nervous. They seemed strangely 'cold and aloof' somehow but also worse than that as if they could do awful things with out hesitation or concern. When they were gone, the locals were quite pleased. Shortly after they went, the new toiletroom exploded and was totally destroyed. Luckily nobody was using it, or even near it, at the time but nobody was happy who had gotten used to using the new 'convenience'. Maharg67
0091: I WAS THE EYE The new capital, of the new Peoples DC Republic, was RivetCity but was based in the large, former luxury, liner that had appeared with the last reality shift. The carrier was becoming a special base and civilians were starting to shift to live in other areas of RivetCity. The First Peoples Convention was held in the liner-ship and it was fairly well run. Unity was rising amongst the peoples of the new republic and UnityWays had much influence but far from total influence. There was much to do but in many ways the older republican institutions, and networks, were still functioning well so they were kept largely the same. There were more than military concerns facing the PDCR but also many civil ones and special ones. The economy had been damaged and needed rebuilding. There were growing numbers of refugees to deal with. There was the increasing problem of enemy infiltrators. Envoys came from the Orders of Steel, the Subwayers, the Church of Atom, Orders of the Way such as the Order of Compassion, the Followers of the Apocalypse, the small DC Commonwealth, the EagleEnclave, the Exiles of Steel, the Tribal Islands Alliance to the east, the Ghoul Undernetwork and a loose collection of other bodies. None there seemed to realize just how important that meeting was in that it would lead to surprising changes in the future. With the envoys, and by other means, came much information about steadily worsening conditions through out many parts of the DC Wastelands. Yet it was not all bad. Mysterious new forces, for good, were rising along with mysterious new forces of more negative qualities. Entities, from fiction, were appearing more often. Local legends were coming to life. Some areas of the DC Wastelands were growing greener, more fertile while new, larger, fortified settlements were being established as many smaller ones were being abandoned. Yet the DC Wastelands were largely the same as they had always been. From deathclaws to abandoned trains, from atomic motorized motorbikes to great statues, from glowing weeds to mutant cows, the Wastelands were still familiar. Then came the message from the RingBase of the Ringdom of the RingOfRings. It gave some details of the RingBase and the Ringdom, offering a general alliance and assistance in various ways including a willingness to take refugees. The stealth-submarine carried out its first mission as it detected a rather nasty, sneaky, attempt to clamp powerful bombs to the hull of the liner and destroy the convention, along with all of the VIPs and others there. It would have been a terrible blow not just to the new republic but to many DC Factions and the new alliance that would arise out of the convention. Deep in the dark waters of the DC River, the underwater battle raged as torpedoes were launched, figures in aquatic power armor fought each other and aquatic fighting robots joined in the fray. An enemy submarine, less powerful and sophisticated than the stealth-submarine but larger, was forced to surface and there its crew was forced to surrender to Republican soldiers and sailors. All local wildlife had fled, even the monstrous diresharks. Fighting down there was difficult thanks to the power of the river, the masses of mutated flora and fauna and the great bits of junks and old structures found at the floor of the mighty river. It was then that the stealth-submarine crew made a most amazing discovery, the very top of which was sticking out of the river floor like a great metallic stone dome. It was an ancient transport of the AncientLords themselves and the size of the discovered dome area, along with its shape, indicated that the transport was truly gigantic in size.Yet it was not the only strange, and wondrous find, of that day though it was the greatest. A huge crawler-submarine was found on the river bed, long covered by great mutated river weed growths. There was also a zetan saucerboat and a range of sunken vessels from the fighting just prior to Doomsday.
Maharg67
0092: I WAS ??? I had saved Sarah Lyons, and the other Troopers of Lyons Pride, from the evil aspect of myself. Unfortunately it was more powerful than me as in brute strength and I had barely managed to escape with the platoon. The humans were recovering and in order to assist I had enhanced them of mind, body and spirit. I was stronger than my evil aspect but only in some ways. My firm links with he-she-it were painful, and dangerous, but allowed me to keep a stronger watch on it. My own insanity had receded and my awareness had cleared. The platoon soldiers were in a deep healing sleep thanks to the damage done by he-she-it in the short moment before I rescued them. He-she-it had damaged them of mind, body, and spirit in that short time out of malice against those that were not damaged as she-he-it was. Around me was a vast metallic stone chamber that was part of the TransSphere, the mighty AncientLords' vessel buried beneath the DC River that humans had recently discovered the existence of. The GeniusThirteen had discovered it centuries ago but had failed to penetrate beyond its inner hull. The TransSphere had massive outer, middle and inner hulls. The vast domechamber that I was in, was between the middle and inner hulls. Light seemed to come from the air itself but it was not overly bright and somehow there were some feint shadows. An AncientOne was there, quietly observing me. It was a three metre tall humanoid wrapped head to foot in super power armor. It was not hostile or friendly but neutral. I 'sensed' that it, like other AncientOnes in the TransSphere, had been quietly carrying out duties for many hundreds of thousands of years. It did not answer my questions and I could not 'sense' the presence of AncientLords but that could have been because they were on the other side of the inner hull. I did not know if I could go deeper into that amazing vessel because I had not bothered to try to do so. He-she-it had not tried to enter the TransSphere and I had a strong 'feeling' it would not let him-her-it do so though I did not know why. I felt oddly at peace in that ancient, alien place close to where the Lyons Pride Troopers were sleeping as they floated, horizontally, in glowing green fields of energies just above the metallic stone floor. So I slept, not realizing until then just how exhausted I was of mind-body-spirit.
