geekminxen
Can anyone point me toward a tutorial on copying a character's face to "transfer" them from FO3 to New Vegas?
bethjunkie
Are you trying to use one as a save or putting them into the Geck as a npc?If you want to copy from a savegame, you'll need Face Ripper. If you're going from a npc in the game then you'll need FaceGen Exchanger for FO3Edit. llamaRCA
nevermind lol. I dunno how bethie ninja'd me by 12 minutes as I was in and out of the thread the whole time  she is very sneaky :ninja:

geekminxen
Thank you both! I'm trying to make a NV character into a FO3 NPC, so I'll check out Exchanger. :) Thanks as always, guys! Edit: Crud, I just realized I asked for the wrong thing. I want to move someone from NV to FO3, not the other way around. I found the NV version of the face exchanger, but it looks like it's only for PC saves. Am I missing something? Besides brain cells, I mean? llamaRCA
lol! Well, the important part is you need to get the hex numbers out of NVEdit so you can move them into FO3Edit. You can get them out manually if you want. Thismod is for FaceGen Save Ripper but the pic shows you how to manually get into the Edits and edit the face hex data. That's what you need to do. Get the hex number out of the NPC record in NV and save it somewhere (I always do it in Notepad) and then open FO3Edit and copy them back into your FO3Edit NPC record that you've got ready and waiting. :) @bethie - Yes, you do have mad skillz
Quetzlsacatanango
Lessee... copy your fallout3.esm to your nv/data directory.Open falloutnv.esm in geckGo to the NPC you want, face advanced, copyDon't close geck, Go to data->open and untick falloutnv.esm, tick fallout3.esm. Make your NPC, go to face advanced, paste. Save your plugin.Move it back to fallout3/data dir.play. If you meant a player character from a save game... I dunno, ask those guys ^^^

Won't be the same without all the faux-vampire drama, but at least I'll have his cute little face.
Quetzlsacatanango
Yes it does. Especially if you are smart and built your fo3 character's face in geck and made it a preset, you can get it directly into NV like this. NV geck will open fallout3.esm + plugins just fine. Just not fallout3.esm and falloutnv.esm at the same time (without heavy modification of fo3.esm).
