Freezing (Load Order?)

I've been having various crashes and freezes but fixed the majority of them so far, mostly due to using Windows 7. However there is one that is very bad that constantly makes me freeze, so far I've only tested it in an interior but I freeze within the first 10-20 seconds of looking around. Earlier I had decided to re-install some of my mods and install some new ones, as I was afraid my mods were getting messy and I wanted to double check things were installed correctly and compatible. I also installed a few more mods on top of these as well as FOIP compatibility patches.

I've tried turning certain ones off and on, re-doing my merged patch several times, nothing seems to make a difference.

My load order has been corrected using BOSS, but here it is incase something is wrong:

Once again, it's not a crash or CTD of any kind, just freezing. Even the sound doesn't seem frozen, or at least it doesn't stutter. Any ideas?

Maybe remove Unofficial Patch, and try either Blackened Compatibility or FOIP patches. Remeember Blackened EVE patch only works with Paradox Ignition merger version of EVE. You can try the older FOIP )Fallout Interoperability Patch) instead I suppose

I removed Unofficial Patch and replaced it with Fallout Remastered, I didn't realize UFP was so unstable. I just assumed it was safe because the Skyrim versions are so great, it was the last thing I'd expect to cause problems. I was already using FOIP but I may have to try Blackened if I can't figure out the problems soon.

Changing UFP to FR did not fix my problems though, but I'm guessing it probably saved me some future crashes and problems.

When you made your merged patch, did you inspect it and correct the necessary conflicts? Also, what are your system specifications?

By conflicts, do you mean using FO3Edit to find ITMs and such, or something else? I checked for ITMs and deleted references and there were none. I'm hoping I don't need to manually clean every mod I've downloaded like I had to for Skyrim. :pinch:

My specs are in my forum profile, but here's a copy/paste:

Processor: Intel® Core™ Sandy-Bridge i7-2600K CPU @ 3.40GHz (8 CPUs), ~3.4GHz

Memory: G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 32GB (4 x 8GB)

Motherboard: Asus Intel BOXDZ68BC LGA 1155 Intel Z68

Graphics Card: AMD Radeon Saphire HD 7970 3GB GDDR5

Soundcard: HT OMEGA Claro Halo

I am also running Windows 7 64bit. I'm aware that W7 causes a lot of problems in Fallout 3, but I have done every possible fix I have come across, which I will list below:

Added the INI fixes to reduce the cores used

Changed .ogg default program to Windows Media Player

Disabled .NET 3.5.1

Installed a .dll file that helped some people

Set FOSE Launcher and fallout3.exe to run as Administrator

Set fallout3.exe compatibility to XP Service Pack 3 (I have also tried Service Pack 2, as well as Vista S1, S2)

Told ffdshow to not work with fallout3.exe

I think that's all the things I tried. If I am missing anything that might help, please let me know. The big frustration for me right now is I can't tell if my problem is because of mods or because of windows 7 -.-' I think I'll just try disabling every mod and see what happens.. I was hoping I wouldn't be spending a lot of time messing with fixes for FO3 like I do for Skyrim, but I guess that's too much to ask from Bethesda.

Also, I almost forgot to mention, I reinstalled the game and mods, and didn't install a couple (unofficial fallout patch, destructible environment). I am now no longer getting the freezing, but I am getting a "Fallout is not responding" crash just as frequently as I was previously freezing. So it's no longer freezing or CTD, but not responding after 20-30 seconds ingame.

EDIT: It's my mods. Turning them all off except for DLC fixed the problem entirely. I'm trying Blackened compatibility patches now.

You changed the .ini that is located in the "My Games" folder, right? Not the one in the Fallout 3 Folder. Also, did you install your game outside of "Program Files"? You don't need the .dll file that some people use to trick the games program into thinking the computer has a real video card. You already have one. You need to mod up slowly. Start the game and make a hard save. Then add your mods one at a time, checking in game each time to make sure they are working properly. Have you read this http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/652876-fallout-3-modding-and-you/ ? Also, do you have the FO3Edit Training Manual http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/mods/8629

]Try running without Remastered first-just use the Blackened (or FOIP which (which you shouldn't probably use with Remastered, and of course not with Blackened as Blackened is a replacement for the older FOIPS). Remember Remastered are fixes to the game and Blackened is a patch to make mods play nice with each other). For EVE remember that Blackened is for the Paradox Ignition version only.

Or you could always simply de-activate every mod-then start activating them again one by one till you get the problem....
