i've been thinkin if there is a way to remove part of the clothing? like the one i've seen by Rekicker the topless corset..

i wish to remove the back of leather armor or similar to make it look torn so as to show the back of my female chara as she has a nice tattoo that i 've made. so if anyone can guide me tru this i'd be very very grateful :)

Two ways to do it.....one is to simply replace the areas of leather armor's texture with skin texture in the dds, but it usually doesnt look right....so a better way is to do transparencies in the dds and modify the nif (armor model). You need NifScope and FO3Archive to do this.

1. Using FO3Archive, extract both Data\Fallout - Meshes.bsa\armor\raiderarmor01\f\outfit.nif and (in this case I used metal armor but you can do the same with leather armor) metalarmor\f\outfit.nif.

2. Open raiderarmor01\outfit.nif in NifScope, then select "Arms", right click and select "Block --> Copy Branch"

3. In new window open metalarmor\outfit.nif, select Scene Root, right click and select "Block --> Paste Branch"

4. Go back to raiderarmor01, select upperbody\NiAlpha Property (transparency) and copy and paste branch to new model's upperbody.

5. Save new model as Data\meshes\armor\metalarmor\f\outfit.nif in Fallout folder.

6. Open metalarmor's dds in photoshop, create new alpha channel, make transparent areas black, save as textures\armor\metalarmor\farmor_d.dds

7. Add "textures/armor/metalarmor/farmor_d.dds" and "meshes/armor/metalarmor/f/outfitf.nif" to Archiveinvalidation and this is how it comes out....

tsibson, i've tried following your method . it works.. but i am expereiencing some problem with the model... turns out the arms and neck area has some glitch like interuppting graphics or something popping like veins... scary.. and i had my character both breasts turn white instead of being covered by the front of the leather armor.. how to do i solve that? do u need me to post some screenies of the glitch?

I forgot to tell you that you have to scale down the original skin to eliminate the neck problem, in leatherarmor the branch is the first "arms". Right click and select "Transform-->Scale Vertices" and set X,Y and Z to 0.9900. The leatherarmor works better with skin from wastelandclothing03, NOT raiderarmor01 as I used for the metal armor. I did this one in just a few minutes so it was fairly easy to do and came out looking pretty good.
