Skyrim.ini - grass section isn't there

One of the mods requires me to change iMaxGrassTypesPerTexure=15 in the grass section but there's nothing to do with that in the ini notepad.

any help?

There's nothing to it.

The best recommendation would be to get Bethini (available here on Nexus) and allow it to generate a new Skyrim.ini file for you (it optimizes the settings). Then edit that as necessary.

However, if you care to be a minimalist. Here is MY code for that section:

[Grass]

bAllowCreateGrass=1

bAllowLoadGrass=0

bDrawShaderGrass=1

fGrassFadeRange=10125

fGrassWindMagnitudeMax=125

fGrassWindMagnitudeMin=5

iGrassCellRadius=2

iMaxGrassTypesPerTexure=3

iMinGrassSize=40

You can either copy it into your Skyrim.ini OR you can simply create the section you desire by typing (I use Notepad) it out yourself:

[Grass]

iMaxGrassTyperPerTexture=15

Watch your spelling. If you typed it in as you have it in your post you would be unhappy with the result.

Good luck.

The "correct" spelling (as in the one the game recognizes) is actually iMaxGrassTypesPerTexure, without the second 't' in "Tex[t]ure". Bethesda made a typo in the setting and it won't work if you fix the misspelling. Odd, but that's Bethesda for you.

If you mean Texure then it is correct, someone at Bethesda had a heavy night on the tequila the night before and consequently the whole world is now learning a new spelling for the word 'Texture' :geek: it's what you get for being a nerd HAHAHA

That has nothing to do with Bethesda. If you are talking about Vurt's Skyrim Floral Overhaul that is how Vurt specified the spelling when adding that line under [Grass] in the ini file.

And that is how Vurt specified it because that's how Bethesda spelled it when defining the .ini options. Vurt didn't come up with that setting, it's been there since the game came out.

I have never had that setting in Skyrim.ini and do not have it now. If Bethesda put that setting in Skyrim.ini why have I never had it in the last nine years of playing this game?

Could you point me to where Bethesda keeps it's ini options definitions?

I had to edit this as I believe I am wrong and TheGreatFalro is correct in her statement. I have been thinking about this and she makes too much sense for me to argue.

I still would like to know where the .ini options are and how to access them. I am going to assume they are in the Creation Kit of which my knowledge is sadly lacking. If someone could tell me how to access them I would appreciate it.

The STEP project has a couple of guides that list all (I believe) settings that can go in either Skyrim.ini or SkyrimPrefs.ini, and has (mostly) complete info about things like the effect (if any - you'd be surprised how many settings there are that are simply unused), valid values, etc. Here's the links:

Also, um, not a "she", lol. My profile pic is my Skyrim character, I guess I should change it lmao.
