severe flickering on launch screen, during game

Fired up skyrim after a couple months, now for some reason i have severe flickering on launch screen, during game to the point it's unplayable. I haven't added any new mods, except for skse cause the game updated. Tried verifying the files, no joy. At my wits end here. Anybody else experience this? If so, how'd you fix it? Thanks.

Check your mods listings for any SKSE dependent mods that also need to be updated following a skyrim/SKSE update.

 

In addition, just to make sure everything's ok outside the game, check your video drivers. Windows had a recent update that *might require installing new drivers (although I can't say with certianty)

Thanks. I have the 'latest' Nvidia drivers, graphics haven't changed from ultra setting. However if I switch to windowed/borderless, the flickering is gone. It's a head scratcher for sure.

Based on your reply... Apparently it's some video mode rendering artifact, either

a) Not being handled properly by Skyrim

b) not being handled properly by your graphics driver or video card.

Sounds like there's some display settings fighting with one-another. You sure you play the game at the same resolution your monitor is set at?

Yes sir, both are 1920 x 1080. Now problem with FALLOUT 4 for comparison.

Finally figured it out. For some reason in my Nvidia control panel screen resolution was set to 1080i instead of 1080p. Changed it to 1080p and all's good now. Hope this helps other peeps who had the same problem.
