Autumn4242
I know there are many armor pieces that have there own slot(shoulder, upper leg, cape, ext) but what if I want to wear two armor/cloths that take up the same slot (i.e: ones that look good together, like chain under cloths or body suit under plate). Does something like this already exist and I can't find it or could it be done at all through console or mod? ghosu
Can't equip the same slot twice, one part has to be assigned to another armor slot but this needs CK and NifSkope work. And even when you change that it would end in clipping errors if the parts are not compatible - like from different mods. Autumn4242
Then how do I change the slot of a piece of equipment?
bben46
First, the way the game engine handles clothing/armor is completely different from real world where you 'put on' a piece of clothing. In the game engine, the armor/clothing actually replaces the body part it covers - There is nothing beneath that armor - no body, nothing. When you remove the armor, the game replaces the armor with the body - or underwear - depending on the body mod (if any) or vanilla body with underwear you use. As actually wearing one armor over another will only show the top armor, I suspect you are looking for a way to increase the armor ability to stop damage. If you can learn just the basics of the Construction Kit, it is very simple to change that value on a piece of armor. You would need the Construction kit to change the slot allocation anyway - so you will be able to go either way when you do learn it.
Autumn4242
Actually Resky(http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/9286) already offers the ability to wear clothes over your chest armor(some armor anyway), I just want the ability to change the slot of a given wearable equipment, something which has already been done in many mods. So how do I do that? Edited December 2, 2012 by ozzbrown

Autumn4242
This should helphttp://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Skyrim_bodyparts_number Thank you, that was very informative, though admittedly I seem to lack the skill to mod equipment in this way. I would definitely still like to see a mod that allows multiple layers or slots for equipment (clipping or not), but I doubt I can do it myself. Jitansgate
The Only way this could be done is to make the Armor Yourself or Request it. Which was already done by Hothtrooper44. (1:25) *Dragonbone Robes* which is Dragonbone Armor combined with Robes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VP9Nd4CrnxU
