MadCatCO
Alduin, Eternity, Vanquished by the last Dragonborn. A new age, in soul, yet not name, has begun. With the changes wrought by the fulfillment of the Elder Scroll, what changes have bechanced the one who forced them? Okay, that was a little silly, but I'm a better writer than a modder and I had an idea to put forward. After my 2nd playthrough of Skyrim, I started wishing that there was more to my Dragonborn's then just their souls. There is nothing that differentiates the Dragonborn physically from the other mortals walking around Skyrim, and that's a bit disappointing. My idea was that, after the defeat of Alduin, that the Dragonborn gets a new power, comparable to Beast or Vampire Lord Forms, and allows the player to become a humanoid-dragon, complete with scales, wings, a tale, claws, scales, and their hair becomes a crest, eyes become the golden slitted ones that dragons do. Not only cosmetic, it would also add perks such as (in some cases further add) resistances to fire, ice, magic, physical damage, health regen, stamina regen, and halve the time needed for shouts to recharge. NPC's wouldn't get hostile nor react to a public change except to use the same kinds of dialogue the do when they watch you absorb a soul. Though you still wouldn't be able to shop/sleep/open inventory A new constellation could be added allowing you to gain levels either with dragon souls or with the number of times you use shouts while in dragon-form. The perks could add to resistances, damage, shortening time between shouts, etc. Personally, I really wish I could make this, but I have no idea how to go about doing it, if anyone was interested in the project, I would gladly assist in whatever ways I could, even if that's only creative discussion.-MadCatCO
jcdenton2012
Just a thought, but the last Dragonborn created the Septim dynasty. Since you are the new dragonborn shouldn't you... you know... be like next in line for the Imperial throne?

I was having it that the girl was already a werewolf, had slain a few dragons before getting to Sahloknir and had the reforged Amulet of the Nine (what was the Amulet of Kings, taken by the crusader and reforged, which broke the binding to the Septims and made it work for dragonborn). It would be really cool to be able to do a two or three stage shape-shift in Skyrim once you’ve done a certain amount of the main quest. Say the first stage is your natural form or what you start the game in, the second is your half-way form, which would be easiest to model for the Argonians, roughly nine feet tall, digigrade legs, scaled and winged, able to use shouts and such, but able to use the two-handed weapons as well. Not armour or one-handers, they’d likely be too small. Also be able to either use shouts or get perks that build the effects of shouts into the character (breath attacks, resistances and the like only). Third stage could be a dragon, though maybe 4-legged to differentiate you from the others, able to fly and fight in the air. Maybe later on you can use dragon souls to turn followers into lesser versions. On the down side, while you may not be attacked by everybody, you probably wouldn’t be able to talk to most as they’d run away from you and the Blades would certainly attack unless you changed them. Just a thought, but the last Dragonborn created the Septim dynasty. Since you are the new dragonborn shouldn't you... you know... be like next in line for the Imperial throne? There are a lot of Dragonborn around, or there were at least, which is why you still get to choose your race at the start of Skyrim instead of being forced into a particular one. Personally I doubt that the Empire would willingly allow a mer or beast on their throne, even if they were dragonborn. Tiber Septim aka Talos was Dragonborn, one of the first group most likely, and when he went south from Skyrim, he forged the Empire, setting its capital in the Imperial City, which was likely an Ayelid city at one point, quite possibly up to the point where Pelenial took down Umariel the Unfeathered and Alessia used the city for her base/throne room. After the Nords used the Elder Scroll to banish Alduin and the rest of the dragons were captured, slain or fled, there was no reason for the Dragonborn to exist, so the only ones known from then on were the ones Akatosh gave the Amulet of Kings to, namely Talos’ line. Theoretically if that was still around, it could be used to mark other dragonborn as they would be able to wear it, just like the Septim line, however, Martin destroyed it when he chose to become Akatosh’s avatar so he could fight and banish Dagon at the end of the Oblivion Crisis. Since then, there’s been two hundred years of a non-dragonblood Emperor on the throne of Tamerial, I doubt the council would endorse the change just because a random mer, Khajit or Argonian came up to them and claimed dragonblood. In fact you’d probably end up with the same situation as in Skyrim, with the Thalmor waiting to dig their over-long fingers into the pie. Realistically the only difference between your character and Ulfric at the beginning of the game is you can burn a dragon’s soul for their knowledge of a word in the thu’um while he had to study for years to gain the power he used to slay the High King of Skyrim at the time. MadCatCO
Thats neat, you're writing a fic about the idea? If you have it somewhere online, I'd love to read it. I agree at the potential simplicities of using an argonian base and basically (as if anything in modding is basic) creating a dragon like skin so that way you could even keep the movements of the tail and legs the same. If you make these changes a blessing by Akatosh it makes sense. Miraak got so old cos he sold his own soul to a daedric Prince. Thus the reason he didn't get that form. Finally Enthusiast said it was a model, from the looks of it he wanted to show us what it'd look like, he took a vampire lord form and added scales and a dragon head. He was showing what such a transform would look like, thus the insignia on his chest is a rather silly thing to break him down over is it not?
