Stuttering and Crashing

He may not look at this post as it's a bit older and the title doesn't specify 'MMM and Francesco's Leveled Creatures compatibility'. I've found him to be open to PMs ... he is a wealth of knowledge.

Sent him a PM. Hope that's not imposing too much.

Also, just saw your reply there mechatech. My system has no such problems running Skyrim, at high graphic quality. I have indeed turned off all mods and tried playing, and the stuttering still occurs, I've lowered the graphics quality, and again, it still occurs. I've tried Stutter Remover, didn't help. I tried quiet footsteps as well, and while it helps a little, it certainly doesn't stop the crashes.

Wait, no, sorry, that's not what I meant. When I turned off the mods, it worked, but it also worked when I had only Unique Landscapes and Francesco's on.

Ok, my first reaction is the same as 'mechatech', and you haven't given an answer on that: is your system up to the task? For example, you have listed these taxing mods:

Crowded Cities improved

Crowded Roads Revamped

High Resolution Faces for Robert's Male and Female

Francesco's Leveled Creatures and Items mod

Martigen's Monster Mod

Unique Landscapes Compilation

All of those are going to put a strain on your system if it is below par, especially in the video card department.

Next step is to post your load order via Wrye Bash (what you posted is useless for troubleshooting -- WB gives vital installation clues). In Wrye Bash, right click on the 'File' tab and select 'View Mods...' and copy/paste everything here, including the spoiler/xml tags.

Currently have a Radeon HD 6770, which, last I checked, was a fairly good card.

I have Wrye Bash installed, but I've always been terrible with the program. Here's the list though:

The 6770 is plenty adequate for stock Oblivion, but when you start adding the kind of graphic eating mods that you have, it is going to strain, I'm afraid -- try getting more than 15 fps in Crysis 2 with a 6770, which is actually a 5770 with HDMI and the newer Universal Video Decoder. You have to remember that Oblivion is an old game, which is incapable of utilising the full capabilities of today's hardware, and as such it will strain even the best gaming rig with certain mods installed.

I would try uninstalling MMM and UL (temporarily), and run the game for a couple of days. If you notice an improvement, then you have your answer -- it's always a juggling act with these kind of mods in Oblivion, unfortunately.

I've had the game with UL for pretty much ever and it's been fine, so I'm going to try to hold onto that one if I can. MMM I don't care about as much, so that one can go.

Thanks!

I have had random crashes for a while, especially going through doors....however, just installed obse 0021 and changed heap setting in OSR to 900 and now the game runs like hussain bolt with no crashes. I walked from topal bay through all the imperial city district gates and down to anvil via skingrad. normally I would get crashes outside skingrad and definitely not able to enter anvil harbour area (better cities loaded) but no crashes, a eureka moment for me! also the ctd at the waterfront (quite common with better cities loaded) has dissapeared as well. This may be just applicable to my rig setup but I would be interested if any one else has had a look at heap settings.

Huh, I recently also installed OBSE 0021.

What's OSR though? Not sure I've heard of that one.
