AKcelsior
After switching from EVE - FOIP to EVE - Remastered patch I started getting this problem with flashing laser pistols and rifles. I read throught the FWE changelog to see that it mentioned in a more recent FOIP update that the flashing energy weapons problem was fixed. Understandably I have forsaken the FOIP ver for this remastered patch and thus am presented with flashing weapons. If anyone knows what might be going on and how to fix it I will award you my allotment of 1 kudo. This problem didn't really bother me until I started getting farther in the game. Now with all these power armored enclave all using energy weapons It's hard to ignore the bright white flashing of their guns. In first person the flashing doesn't occur, just the world models. I am too far into the game to revert back to FOIP (i think, not sure about issues that may arise). I also noticed on the remastered mod page that they have updated the EVE patch, but it also says it's for the paradox ignition 1.0 version only. I'm using the latest PI EVE 1.1 so I'm not sure how badly this would hurt my game. If anyone has any useful info please help :{ I could download the PI EVE 1.0 but it's an old file, I guess I'm just confused and need someone to screw my head on straight. M48A5
Did you toggle ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated? This usually clears up that issue. However, you have stated the probable cause in your post. Remastered is for PI EVE version 1.0 only. I also saw on the Fallout Remastered comments page that the Remastered - PI EVE patch does not work with EVE 1.1.
AKcelsior
The confusion was from the removal of the older remastered eve patch from the mod page. For some reason I thought maybe the older remastered eve patch was for PI Eve 1.1. I guess it would make sense that it was never meant for PI EVE 1.1 to begin with. I guess it wouldn't break my game to reinstall an older version of EVE... I hope. Ugh, back to testing (while my gf continues to yell at me to get off the laptop). I'll be back to tell what happens. AKcelsior
Okay so I removed the PI EVE i had and went through the entire process of re-downloading EVE 97, anchorage, newest update, and updated mesh. I re-downloaded PI EVE (making sure it was the old 1.0) and installed the folders according to the PI pdf. I had boss sort my load order just to make sure everything was as it should be and then applied a new merge patch making sure i excluded the Remastered and Blackened files. Afiak I did everything correctly and I'm still getting flashing laser pistols and rifles. Out of desperation I downloaded some laser pistol/rifle texture replacers and they still flash! I even tried to master update everything but Remastered and Blackened but that just ended in CTDs and still flashing weapons so obviously I master restored it all lol. I'm running out of ideas. M48A5
Open your mod manager, turn ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated! off. Close your mod manager. Open your mod manager, turn on ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated!. Close your mod manager.Open your mod manager and check in game, this should have cured your problem. If it did not, you have an installation error.
BlackRampage
Hmmm. The latest (and last) edit I made to the Remastered mod page was uploading an updated EVE patch which would work with the 1.1 version of the PI version of EVE. Not sure where it went, but if needed I could re-upload it to the Blackened mod page. The Blackened patches only work with the 1.1 version of PI EVE too, so you will be needing the 1.1 version if you want to use the Blackened patches. As far as the flashing textures go, see M48A5's post.
AKcelsior
I toggled off/on archive invalidation through NMM with no luck. I also deactivated and reactivated the ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated!.exe file off the nexus. It is the strangest thing. I switched from FOIP to Remastered + Blackened when Gopher put together those FO3 mod clinic vids a few months ago. For a time it seemed everything was working beautifully together. After that playthrough I played a little New Vegas and when I returned to FO3 for my current evil playthrough for some reason I was having a compatibility problem or incorrect installation what I thought was EVE which resulted in strange occurances in energy weapons and CTDs so I downloaded a different combo of EVE PI + Remastered and everything worked except those annoying flashing laser weapons. I shrugged it off because at the time I was more than happy to take a few flashing energy weapons over CTDs. I'm at Raven Rock right now in my current playthrough so I'm getting laser pistols and rifles being shot at me constantly so this little hiccup is becoming more apparent now. It's totally nitpicky considering all the trouble I went through years ago just to get FO3 to run properly on my win7 64bit os. If I would have thought ahead to the Enclave troops and their love of lasers I might have done something drastic like a reinstall of FO3 and all my mods. I'm going to try EVE PI 1.1 just to see if maybe it's a typo on the Remastered files concerning the 1.0 version of EVE. I'll update this post with my findings, hell anything is worth a try at this point. I really appreciate both of you helping me out here. M4 you are always quick to answer my tech support posts with relevant info and Rampage I appreciate your hard work with Blackened and your contribution to Remastered. I don't run into nearly the issues I ran into using FOIP, which is a great group of patches anyway, just a little outdated. So regardless if this little problem gets fixed you both deserve kudos. Edit: It appears I already gave you kudos earlier this week M4 for your help with my post on cutting down save file size so I accidentally took away your kudos lol, I gave it right back. AKcelsior
As expected using the PI EVE 1.1 causes the game to freeze at the title screen. I guess I have exhausted all my options and will just live with flashing weapons. I've devoted too much time to this visual anomaly. At this point I just want to play the game before I am back to school for finals. Any further suggestions are appreciated but not expected. If I somehow fix this I will update this post in case anyone else is in my boat.
Purr4me
removing ALL technical data I have posted, does not seem to do any good to continue support. Your welcome. 2013 and I start new. Kitty. Edited January 2, 2013 by Purr4me
