Random House Clutter and CTD

Ever since the latest steam update I have experienced random CTD issues as well as house clutter flying all over. Especially when I open a cabinet, things will fly. It hurst when in a dungen and an axe comes flying out of some random closet door I open. There is no rhyme or reason, have turned mods off and on, still nothing fixes this. I found BOSS through reading on forums and there are a couple issues but honestly dont have a clue on how to fix since i dont have any problems with the mods listed as "having a problem". Any previous mods that were problems for me I removes through the manager. I have updated video driver for my gtx 560ti and removed all antivirus as well. still no fix.

On another really big note, I am unable to verify game cache on steam since the last update as well. Very annoying for me. If anyone has some advice, please help.

Ok so first off, let me know what your sound card is, a DXDIAG would be nice too, but if we can work on your sound card as a possible issue first, it may help, as others have had this issue and sound fixed it.

Have you tried backing up games, uninstalling and reinstalling steam? If more than one thing is not working with steam I almost would think it is the problem and not games, although I have seen steam related issues caused by hardware and drivers.

If you click the steam button in steam, and press settings, on the first page, where it says "Beta Participation" does it say you have 0 selected, 1 selected, etc.

I have not backed up my entire games library. To be honest I doubted wether or not it would actually work. That is why i have NOT uninstalled steam and then re-installed it. I have this computer that I specifically built for Battlefield 3 in mind, literally less than a month before release, so this computer is at a year old right now and I have kept everything updated. I'm still not sure about the sound thing, had to go to bed last night. I'm not seeing a place in the program settings that says, click here to check for updates.

I do not participate in any beta's under the beta participation. There are none selected. I see option for steam beta available though. That is the only one listed.

Another side note of a thought I randomly had in the middle of the night that woke me up. I had been screwing around with the creation kit up until about May of this year. I had uninstalled it about a couple of months ago when I was taking a break from Skyrim. Then possibly a couple three weeks later had opened up skyrim from steam and it told me there were updates for a more compatible whatever and whatnot thingy. (I was mass uninstalling old games I no longer play to clean up some room on machine. No bid deal, just didn't want the clutter.) So I said ok, update. Since then, my update game cache has not worked at all and I was no longer able to upload my pictures of screenshots. I now save them to my harddrive. I wondered about filling up my allotted storage on steam would possibly cause this to happen? I am a screenshot fool sometimes.

Anyway I re-downloaded the creation kit hoping it might fix some of my clatter and random splatter of items around a room. Sometimes all I have to do is walk in a room and other times once i open a cabinet it happens. I still dont understand the random crashes though. It never happend before the steam update. Ever. Even with a bunch of mods, i read all the instructions, check to see if there are any known conflicts with what I have, and have actually removed some older ones a few weeks ago that I dont use.

I did have an issue last night, I opened up game via steam. My saves were there, however my SKYUI was not working. It had an error message on the right side of page when viewing inventory that it was possibly out of date and wouldn't display properly. I dont get this message when I load with SKSE. Possibly steam doesn't support the SKYUI? to load properly? I have the latest version. Odd. I use the Nexus Mod manager for all my mods now. I use to do it through steam workshop. I thought about removing all the ones I use through steam workshop, and then going to nexus to redownload them from there. So many options to look at it seems.

My system specs:

I am running an AMD Phenom II X4 955 Processor 3.2 Ghz

ASUS M4A87TD/USB3 motherboard

8 Gig Ram Kingston HyperX

Windows 7 Pro 64 bit Service Pack 1

GTX 560ti graphics card

Western Digital 1 TB hard drive with partition

To be honest, there is no reason why my computer should not be able to handle Skyrim V. All my other games run fine. I am wondering if it was a bad upgrade for steam.

Should I trust steam to update my skyrim game or is there a way that I could manually move it to another partition to be on the safe side. I don't want to loose where I am at in the game. Too much work, about 400 hours on this character. I don't want to loose it.

Just an update. I did find a new version for the audio driver and installed. It didn't seem to make much difference in game.

I did crash once throughout the night of i would say potentially 3 hours of play. House clutter seemed to be down a bit on the scale lever, however it was still there. Usually I crash about once an hour.

I did check again after installing dirver to see if steam would let me verify game cache, it still does not.
