Oblivion Crashes Upon Saving (Most of the Time)

This has me incredibly frustrated.

A lot of attempts of saving my file end up with a CTD, and a corrupted save from that attempt. I have no idea how to address this issue, and I am afraid I am not as tech savy as I should be. I do have a 64bit Windows and I downloaded Oblivion via Steam, if that helps.

If anyone has gone through this please let me know your thoughts of troubleshooting this.

Thank you

These may not be in order here, but I am using Vortex for mod management. I have edited the ini file to disable scripted autosaving.

First of all do you have an NVidia GeForce based Graphics Card? If you do I have been thro the same ordeal, The solution lies within Oblivion Reloaded. This mod contains a file that stops Nvidia related CTD's. Give it a try. If your PC has a 64bit OS, then give ENB Boost Nvidia 64 bit mod a try also. Since installing these mods, my newish PC has run Oblivion smoothly. If this works, you can then set about 4gb patching all your executables files and dll's you can find including OBSE files. Then you can tweak up your My Games/ Oblivion ini settings to run the game with more muscle.

If you do not have an NVidia graphics card, there is an ATI alternative to that above. I hope this may cure your frustration as it took me a week and a half to find this answer. Best of luck.
