GamerRick
Non-TTW FO3 So, I created a new Base Effect for the existing EnergyResist Assoc. Item, and made its other settings the same as IncreaseFireResistance. Then I created a new Actor Effect Ability to use that base effect and give it a magnitude of 20, and a new Perk that uses that ability. I tested it with some Overlord Super Mutants that are using the Tri-beam laser rifle, which is set to Resist: EnergyResist. I didn't notice myself having much resistance and upped the resistance to 80% and then 95% to see if I could tell a difference. There is only a slight difference between 20% and 95%. So, it seems to work but has no noticeable effect at 20% and only a slight effect at 95%. Any idea why this would be so? Mktavish
Are you sure you are getting real actual DR ... not just happenstance lower damage ? According to this site , says doesn't exist in Fo3 https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/DamageBut I don't know if I really trust them for knowing the nitty gritty details. It's possible there is a hard coded relationship with "Energy Resist" from weapon to base effect. And maybe it's capped at a very low percentage of the base weapon damage. But did you notice the object effect this has "DLC03LaserShotgun" and the object effect "DLC03EnchLaserShotgun" which just says it damages health(40) based on a "GetIsID" player. And I'm fuzzy on what it means running the check on "Subject" , so player gun wielder or gun target ???But I'm wondering if you could make various damage health base effects , to attach to Object effects labeled and possibly conditionalized for something target side doing said magnitude of total damage (could even make it a dot)Which on the base effect you use the counter effect , and then that's where you select your resist base effect.IDk ... I'm still learning with effects , they'er a bit on the un-intuitive side imo :ermm:
GamerRick
IDK! I changed it to IncreasedDamageResistance and noticed a big change fighting two Overlords that have tri-beams. I looked for anything where you could make a condition that would make it apply to Energy Weapons only, and found nothing. But, the UUFP sets the resistance to those weapons to EnergyResist for what ever reason, and FOOK2 made an object effect out if it that they applied to power armors. Yet, it also occurred to me that it was never coded for in the game engine. I can't think of how to really test it to see if the damage I receive from the tri-beam laser (that kills me in around 8 hits) is lessened at all. I am going to give up FO3 and go to TTW. Thanks!
