HeyYou
Yep. That's the best plan. And start saving your pennies for a bigger SSD. :D I have three in my system. 500gb M2 the o/s is on, and installed programs. (office, NMM, that kind of thing.) another 500gb drive JUST for my games, and the 256gb ssd out of the systems previous incarnation. The machine is SCREAMIN' fast. less than 30 seconds from pushing the power button, to a useful desktop. It's awesome. I have a 1TB NAS as well. Used only for backups. HeyYou
The Samsung EVO's are REALLY good, but, a tad pricey, we sell the Crucial MX500 drives in various sizes where I work. I think out of hundreds we have sold, (if not thousands) I have only seen one fail. I have two in my machine. Another in the wifes, and one in my laptop. :) I'm pretty happy with 'em. :D

I'm hoping to one day build my own computer from scratch.
HeyYou
I think the EVO's are pretty much top of the heap. M2 drives are faster, and Samsung makes those as well. The EVO drives we used to stock carried a 10 year warranty....... Yeah, the drive would outlast whatever it was installed in. Probably twice. :) To get any better, you would have to spend serious piles of money, and the cost/benefit ratio just isn't there. (the crucial drives have a 5 year warranty.) terrymatrix
The High Resolution Textures DLC. Even with my "beefy" computer, the high-res pack takes a toll on the loading times in some areas, especially in the urban areas. I've toned down the graphics to the absolute minimum, so this DLC should not be a likely suspect. Erm downloaded it when it first came out, made modded fallout unplayable. There is more chance of bethesda changing their minds about exploiting their fanbase for profit than me using that again. You can get better textures from the mod list. I just transferred the game from an external drive to the SSD on my desktop. Fallout 4 runs perfectly fine now.
