i dont remember how many times i crippled someones head, yet they kept shooting and hitting me >_>

 

 

mod sounds nice, but i think it should become a whole new game:

 

im not sure its possible, but it would be better if you just skip growing up part and just start at entrance of vault (or in tenpenny tower suit?)

then remove all npcs (except dogmeat. i am legend? sure i am!) and replace all monsters with increased number of zombies (+feral dogs/dog zombies)

make them spawn only at night or in buildings- so youll be able to loot during the day (no enemys with ammo => increase number of ammo in boxes)

add hunger&thirst mod

darker nights (+less light in buildings(+flashlight))

disable waiting (coz you probably will be able to wait all night long, which is not ok)

disable fast travel at night (if possible? if not, hordes of zombies will probably disable fast travel...)

you can sleep only in tenpenny tower (sleeping cures max 20% of health, no cripple heailng, youll be able to sleep only once in a day)

 

so, no quests, no people, only your best friend, zombies and cold fear

it would be like 'i am legend' only without end!

Should be possible to make a zombie mod, you just need a good theory for spawning them and keeping track of how many.

 

Maybe set up some respawn points in dungeon locations near a town, where you start the quest, and zombies spawns a few at a time in different locations, and the script tracks the reinforcements of the zombie side for that current quest.

 

Say once you enter megaton and the Sheriff shouts "Close the gate! Or they might get inside!", then you can converse with him to agree to defend megaton.

 

In the mod, you'd have to set up the interior of the town as a safe zone, so no zombies ever goes there, but additional Megaton settlers will spawn outside the gate, with barricades.

 

Once the zombies should appear, they will come from all direction possible, and usually 6-9 zombies will try to get past the barrier and if a few dies, more respawns to take its place until they run out of reinforcements points, or time.

 

As a downside, If the barricade is overrun the sheriff will run into megaton and lock the doors, keeping you locked out along with the zombies for the day.

 

EDIT: Maybe a new twist to the mod? The zombies can only stay alive at night, but if they appear in the sunlight, they take huge amount of damage because their body can't handle it. So the time for the barricades to be safe would be during the day, but during the night each town has a 30% chance of being attacked.

You'd need quests, or the game would get very boring very fast.

 

Quests would be like... "We're running out of food. Go to the grocery store and get some."

 

or...

 

"We heard a group of survivors on the radio claiming they're holed up in an abandoned aircraft carrier, but they need resupplying. Every zombie laying siege to their aircraft carrier is one less zombie around us, so their survival is very important."

 

or...

 

"Another survivor has arrived and has told of a group of humans with powerful weapons and armor who are going around and luring the zombies into bottle necks, then killing them off with expertly aimed headshots in a very methodical and effective manner, but they were ambushed by hundreds of zombies and are now occupying the second floor of an office building in downtown DC, surrounded on all sides with dwindling ammunition, food, water and medicine. Find a way to distract the zombies and get them away so these power armored soldiers can escape and continue their mission."

 

etc etc etc.

ok i got idea for quest (there will be only main quest with some parts you wont NEED to do (but with nice reward)

 

there will be NO NPCs! You wont hear or talk to any people (no need for charisma speech and barter), its important for my idea of main quest. I dont wont to spoil ending ideas, but youll try to find survivors like in IAmLegend, so you have to be alone (with doggy and zombies) for looong time.

 

Youll start main quest by turning on any Ham Radio you found, by getting sos signal with message, which will point you to a certain direction...

so then youll follow the trail of certain notes (holotapes? well i said no human voices...) which will tell you where to go (not just go there and do that, more like notes of some professor who is trying to find a cure or maybe save some survivors, like: "there was nothing here, now ill go 'there' " or "i found what i was looking for, now we just need 'something' "...

 

side quests will be like 'optional' parts in FO3, like in note you found: "...(main quest task)... so we separated, they went 'there'. I wonder if they will survive" or "... we need food, i think in super duper mart will be some" (well, not in this stupid way, i just dont want to spoil, or say something there wont be)

 

also so you wont be able to skip large parts of main quest some doors (mostly vault doors?) will be locked with codes (which youll find in those notes)

 

i already have ideas for 2 optional endings, and both of them seem crazy and second one you probably wont expect at all :D
