Stand/Pedestal for Dragon Claws + Bury the Dead resurgence

This thread is to expose one idea that I've had since Day One of Skyrim's release and to promote awareness of another mod that I'd very much like to see adopted by an active modder.

First, I've always been irked by how forgetful the Dragon Claws become once they're used up in their respective dungeons. Each Dragon Claw is unique in texture and color - their compositions of rare metals or materials - yet they end up being kept in storage cells or even sold off as junk. But they're quite beautiful and a clear sign of the Dragonborn's adventurers. I've always felt that the Dragon Claws deserved some recognition, and I've always imagined a pedestal or stand being made in a similar fashion to the Bobblehead stand in Fallout 3. The user would construct the stand in their home (preferrably Hearthfire, but vanilla support would be sensible) and deposit Dragon Claws into the device to be shown in a fixed position like how weapon plaques or mannequins behave. It could even have a parallel quest-line feel to the Dragon Priest masks of the game, each granting special bonus powers to the Dragonborn.

If I had any sense of modding or artistic creation then I would build this mod myself, but instead I hope that someone with the talent and skill would be interested enough in this idea to adopt it for themselves.

Secondly, there is a defunct mod called "Bury the Dead" by Kentoss which allows the Dragonborn to bury NPCs by replacing their bodies with tombstones. The original modder made a spell which accomplished the task, but had plans to replace the spell with a shovel animation and add customized tombstone text boxes. However, he or she has since abandoned the project and left it for another modder to adopt. My hope is that someone will take up this project and expand it in their own fashion, because I believe it challenges a major problem of the game that has always bothered me - that my NPCs, fellow Imperial soldiers, and even innocent civilians are not served respectful burials out in the wilderness.

I hope someone finds either of these ideas exciting and pursues them. All I ask for is their exposure. Thanks.

Hi, there is a mod called The Tesseract which is a really awesome player house accessed from anywhere via a magical gate ring.

One of the many features of the house is a purpose built Display/storage for Dragon Claws. It really is worth checking out, I use it as my main house all the time.

I could have sworn I've seen a few mods with Dragon Claw stands, the major problem for most people that they are never placed in the spot that they want them to be. Look around and I think you might find something you like. SoulMasterII pointed out that they are usually parts of house mods.

As far as burying the dead... I wouldn't know how to make new art and animations, but the way I see it, bodies usually "decompose" over time if you leave them there for a while, or at least drag them out of sight, while you head off on your adventures. Don't worry, they are returning to the Earthbones in their own time... :)

Thanks for the mod! I'm going to check that out now. But I'll keep searching - I'll just need to change my parameters.

And honestly, I'm fine with my enemies decomposing, but my followers and comrades deserve a better service, you know? I'll just have to wait and see.
