mikekearn
What if you were to come to them with a Brotherhood set of power armor you killed some BoS guys for? Then it should be obvious you are their side, and they should be more willing to accept you. It's all a moot point for me, though. I got pissed off at their incessant, condescending remarks, and killed the lot of them.
Seviche
It's the Spoiler forum, who are you trying to protect? It's a habit I intend to keep. Habits keep the mistakes away.At any rate, why would the Outcasts recruit/train you? They stick to the old teachings, which certainly didn't involve recruiting any Wastelander that happened to drop off some neat items. Besides which, if they train you to use Power Armor, they have to give you a suit, because the only other way for you to get it would be to kill one of their existing members (which you've probably done anyway, but it's the principle of the thing).Well, there's usually a suit of Outcast power armor in Old Earney (sp?) on a corpse, as well as the Experimental Power Armor in the sewers below. Also, if you bring them enough "junk" they do become friendly and as the Outcasts do need to increase their numbers, recruiting from the locals makes sense. The locals are the only source of additional manpower other than the West Coast BOS sending new troops over. The Outcasts merely have issues with helping the locals over their holy their mandate of technology collection and preservation. The Scourging is remembered fondly, or whatever the saving of the children (with heavy firepower) was called. That's my read based on dialogue and what in-game information there is. That's why they should offer training, but only after you've showed real dedication to their cause. I'd think that turning in the BOS holotags should be enough proof of your dedication. Yes, I used the spoiler tag again. :whistling:
Wreckless1
Enter console, type setpccanusepowerarmor 1 :) Considering that canon didn't establish any funny need for training to use power armor in FO1 and FO2, I don't have a problem with this. Especially since the vanilla power armor in FO3 is rubbish compared to the PA of FO1/FO2. In the GNR quest after defeating the behemoth, Sarah Lyons will notice if you're wearing Power Armor when you talk to her - so I know that Beth didn't always think they were going to force training. I do wish like hell that they'd have put more NPC reactions to Power Armor in the game, though. For instance, BOS outcasts probably shouldn't be suggesting that you go bang rocks together if you're wearing Power Armor and carrying a Plasma Rifle. Does she say the same thing if you're wearing Outcast armor? I wonder. Excellent point though, I wonder if there IS another way to get training (hidden or forgotten), or if the main quest line is still the only way.

Sephlyn
Paladin Gunny but there is also a Consule Code you could enter by typing ~ SetPCCanUsePowerArmor
falloutx
but the truth about that code it hurts to say even when you train or cheated SetPCCanUsePowerArmor 1 you cant have the perk cause you already trained using that code , just to know using that code could ruin the whole quest just finished the game first then see if you can use that code after the next character you played :D
