falseblackbear
I just got back into playing FO3, and I got some mods as well. The problem is that the game is crashing CONSTANTLY, to the point where I am spending as much time starting up the game as playing it. The most frequent crashes happen when I am attempting to quicksave. Also, the game crashes when I enter Craterside Supply or my Megaton house (so far). I have all the DLC's, the game is patched to 1.7, and I am using FOMM with Archive Invalidation and FOSE. I have tried to isolate what mods I have active to see if any specific mod is the problem, but none of them are causing the problems specifically. Any help would be much appreciated! BlackRampage
Well, first off: Don't use quicksave. Fo3's quicksave "feature" is seriously buggy. And, while your at it, disable all of Fo3 "autosave" features. They're just as buggy. Secondly, since I'm assuming you've got a quadcore processor, did you apply the so-called multi-core fix? If not: If you have a multi-core CPU, like the Quad, and you experience a Fallout 3 crash when loading interiors (Specially in closed spaces): - Open the folder My documents / My Games / Fallout3 - Edit the file FALLOUT.ini. - Inside FALLOUT.ini look for a group called [general]. - Inside the general group, after all the configuration parameters, just copy and paste the following 2 lines: bUseThreadedAI=1iNumHWThreads=2 Now close and save the Fallout 3 configuration file. Load order: Put StreetLights.esm in between Anchorage.esm and BrokenSteel.esm Why do you have "Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch - Broken Steel.esp" in your load order when you don't have the main unofficial patch master file in your load order?Either delete the above plugin or reinstall the unofficial patch. Last but not least: Put all of the Fellout plugins all the way at the bottom of your load order. Also consider making a merged patch/bashed patch. falseblackbear
I only have a single core processor, and those other fixes didn't work. The game crashes when I try to save it normally too. The only one I didn't try is creating a merged patch, because I have no idea what that is. M48A5
falseblackbear,An Intel Core i7 is a multi-core processor. You do have more than one core. You need to apply to fixes that BlackRampage has provided.

falseblackbear
I applied the fix, but the crashes are still happening.
BlackRampage
The game crashes when I try to save it normally too.Sounds like your save might be corrupted. Try saving in a new slot. If that doesn't help, see 2.Blow your own player character up, then let the game reload from the last save and see if that helps. If not, see 3.Start a new game and try creating a new savegame. M48A5
Does the game start and run with no mods? Or did you install a bunch of mods without checking to see if the game would run? Disable all you mods. Start the game to ensure it will run properly. Then, add one mod at a time, checking in-game to insure the game will play properly. You may also have to reduce your video settings.
falseblackbear
I started a new game, and so far so good. I'm doing Operation Anchorage right now, and there have only been a few crashes.
falseblackbear
Ok, I'm having problems again. This time I went all the way through Operation Anchorage, did some other quests, and I am at the point where you go to Vault 112 to find your dad. I don't know what the problem is, but every time I get within the vicinity of Evergreen Mills my game crashes when I try to save, and continues to do so from that point on. I haven't added any new mods since it was working, so I have no idea what the problem is. Does being in the area of Evergreen Mills cause save corruption or something?
