kingsdk
Something that i would really like to see is broadswords, swords that are the length of a one handed but use 2 hands, to add more damage. Does anyone know if something like that has been made and if not could someone do it?
Dudeman325
I could have sworn I've seen some swords that fit this description as part of Immersive Weapons. Take a look and see what you can find. If there isn't anything there (they might be Longswords) that suits your needs, maybe an art person will come along to help you out. Have fun! kingsdk
it doesnt seem like immersive weapons has any broadswords, so the only thing i can do is wait and hope someone makes a mod for it
Dudeman325
They may not have the same name, but I could swear that they have at least a couple swords that are longer or shorter than a 1-hander or 2-hander should be. Sorry I couldn't help you find what you were looking for.
ghosu
You can do that yourself, takes a while to understand in the beginning but once you've got it you can change any 1h weapon to 2h within 5 minutes, you just need 2 additional tools to the CK. FO3 Archive Utility only if you want to edit vanilla weapons OR the desired mod uses .bsa archives instead of the normal folder installation (with .nif and .dds files), so skip the FO3ArchiveUtility part if you want to do so. FO3 Archive Utility: http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/mods/34NifSkope: http://de.sourceforge.jp/frs/g_redir.php?m=jaist&f=%2Fniftools%2Fnifskope%2F1.1.0c2-c7%2Fnifskope-1.1.0-rc4-i686-w32.7z 1. Start FO3AU and select...\Skyrim\data\Skyrim - meshes.bsa2. Extract all .nif files or just browse the weapon you want to edit, like meshes\weapons\iron\1stpersonlongsword.nif , select/extract it and copy it to the same folder structure to your Skyrim folder (you have to create the folder structure) like ...\Skyrim\data\meshes\weapons\iron\1stpersonlongsword.nif3. Rename the file to whatever you want (like IronSwordBROAD.nif) and open it with NifSkope http://666kb.com/i/c9v96mh22erle076x.png 4. Click on WeaponSword block, below in its block detail window, string data line click the TXT icon and enter WeaponBack, do it twice if the value in the line doesn't change. Afterwards select the SCB line and press CTRL+DEL to delete the scabbard. http://666kb.com/i/c9v9fci8v1n91iyy1.png 5. If you want to change the weapon's position/scale click on the weapon's block (IronLongSword:0) and in the block detail window below change the values for TRANSLATION, SCALE or ROTATION. 6. Creation Kit, LOAD, check SKYRIM.esm if it's a vanilla weapon, from a mod: check Skyrim.esm AND MODNAME.esp, mark the mod, SET TO ACTIVE button and press OK/LOAD. If you change a modded weapon you have to search for the correct name in the CK, i explain you the vanilla version. Just ignore/yes to all if error messages pop up. http://666kb.com/i/c9v9j5ssnz89bq7ah.png 7. Object window, select the highlighted category and search for longsword, open the form, rename ID and change the path to your modded .nif file, OK, always YES you want to create a new form. http://666kb.com/i/c9v9ohsgl7gdcw961.png 8. Object window, select the highlighted category and search for longsword, open the form, adjust the highlighted values as shown on the screenshot, you have to change the 2 model paths to your modded nif. Select GAME DATA if you want to change dmg/speed whatever. OK, save the plugin, make sure that it is active in the Game Launcher's Data Files (it's active by default) and start the game. http://666kb.com/i/c9v9zo45a4hakhm5l.jpg 9. Open console, search for the name of your weapon, in my case enter HELP BROADSWORD , it displays the item's code, enter PLAYER.ADDITEM code 1 to add one piece to your inventory. Done. 10. If you want to make it craft- and upgradeable, in CK's object window select category *ALL and search for RECIPEWEAPON or TEMPERWEAPON (recipe=craft, temper= upgrade - both work the same way) , open a random form, rename ID to whatever you want, in the right above drop down menu change the created item to your weapon, in the condition field you can change the necessary smithing perk to whatever you want, like steel smithing and OK, save & play. If you want to mod DG content or the targeted mod requires it, you have to check DAWNGUARD in the CK loading window as well. If you want to reload your mod into CK check it in the loading menu as well and set it to active. In most cases you have to scale up the sword just a bit or raise the position...since most handles are quite small. In worst case it needs a whole new model but that's another story :D greetings Edited December 16, 2012 by ghosu
Dudeman325
Hrm... I've been interested in learning about how to just tweak some models in my spare time... I don't have the art skills for texture work just yet, if ever, but I might be able to give this a shot... No promises of course, I'm taking it as a proof of concept. This will most likely be some vanilla swords resized, nothing major. Nice tutorial ghosu! I'll post a comment here if I have any questions. ghosu
Well in most cases you just have to make the handle a bit longer, moving a few polygons in a 3D editor (afaik NifSkope has an option as well to move single polygon points but this might take a while)...no big deal. And in some cases you just have to move the position a bit upwards and scale it up just a few percents to fit - can be done in NifSkope. Ninvus123
these directions are useless for someone like me who has no clue on hwo to use nifskope or what any of this s*** means, is there a youtube video explaining this? i learn by seeing not by reading directions ment for people who already have a clue on what to do.. not to sound like a dick but google is useless at finding info without going through a billion and a half pages of s*** that has little to no relevance to the subject matter. ghosu
Not really, the NifSkope edits are like shown above and pretty easy to do, even for a beginner...sry, no more time for more details, quite busy during christmas time. You might search the board, there are several threads 'bout this topic and might help as well. Edited December 25, 2012 by ghosu
