GamerForever
Thanks guys. Well I've been playing the game, but I haven't added any mods as of yet. I have just downloaded a mod archive from Filefront which contains a handful of really usefull mods, but I dont quite understand how to install it all. Alot of them say to just extract the rar to Fallout 3's data folder, so does that mean I just dump the rar, folder and all into the data folder? And getting to the main point of my question, some of these mod packages come with a ArchiveInvalidation txt file. Now since I have more then one, do i just copy the contents and paist it all into one txt file? Or are these txt files just there for further modding? Thanks heaps! You need to extract the mod from the zip file first then follow the read me instructions. Most mods involve putting the esp mod file into the Data Directory of your Fallout 3 folder. Texture mods involve the use of the ArchiveInvalidation.txt. This goes in your Fallout 3 main directory. If you use multiple texture mods DON'T overwrite your existing ArchiveInvalidation.txt.Yes, copy and paste into one file. Zagael
Hi, If your having problems just let this programme sort it all out for you "http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=944" (sorry dont know how to link, your gonna have to copy and paste) Download it, save (anywhere will do, just remember where) and follow the instructions, it works perfectly for me but you will have to run it everytime you add any new textures (its not needed for any .esp files) I'm not the author, i'm just pointing you in the right direction. Enjoy your new mods :)
Uzibeatle
You don't replace one archiveinvalidation with another when adding a mod that requires such. You add the path to the txt file when installing a new texture. However, that is the old way to do it, it works though. The recommended way to do it is use the ARchiveInvalidation Invalidated method the fellow above linked you to.Simply follow the instructions in that archive and you will no longer have to fuss with the archiveinvalidation.txt file. In fact after you install http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=944 you shoulddelete the archiveinvalidation.txt in the Data directory. AlsoI suggest you get FOMM (fallout mod manager) which a link can be found for on this site and use that to manage .esp mods. It is not necessary for the nub mod installer but will be in time as more and more .esp mods arrive. It also allows for handy launching of some utilities that allow for easy editing of .esp files.
