So i think we might be able to start sooner than before, now that we actually might have a place to put stuff. Anyway, I know it looks like an S so I dont need people telling me that. In th time since this picture was taken, the whole thing has been lowered a bit because I checked it out in the game and it was OUTRAGEOUSLY high. armageddon818 Posted December 8, 2008 Author Share Posted December 8, 2008 So basically i tested it out in-game, and boy, i think that we might have to pull off an IC tower sort of thing with this main mountain. I legit think the island is too big to be able to have the LOD solve the problem of being able to see the mountain from anywhere. Maybe, if i erase the land mountain and replace it with a...well no then it would still be too big... hmmm... oh and it was WICKED HIGH. Unbelievably so! Anyways, we have a LOT of work to do filling all of this in! Oh and we have another problem with it. The cell 0,0 decided to reset its heightmap in the editor, so we now have a volcano! i think if we plug it with something fake but textured the same we will be all set. regardless, i hope we know how to make some DAMN good ledges, because man are we going to need a LOT of them! On a good note, it is well shaped, and certainly usable, we just need to make sure that we smooth some things out a little bit. Hopefully one of you knows about LOD because the place wont be half as good without it! Well now that i think about it...the IC district is literally like 4 cells...this is a LOT more than that...should i make the whole thing smaller?! Please need feedback on this question Well, I THINK we shoul have 3 smaller islands... that one, and soem more simple ones, and put big underwater tunnels to each of them, we could make the tunnels interiors and make a big long tunnel with blue ish glass windows THEN use the fish from the fishtank mod (We can include meshes and textures in) they swim around outside to make it look real. CURRENTLY WORKING ON: WorldSpaces & Polar bears and penguins! Demonman562 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

armageddon818 Posted December 8, 2008 Author Share Posted December 8, 2008 FINALLY! It is Complete, with as few (none) errors as is humanly possibl to have made. Yes it took FOREVER, and at one point I was like "screw this" but it seems like it is finished finally, and hopefully it is. Moreso, I hope people like the new design as well (i'll post a picture in a second) (well 61 seconds) in the actual one, the tops of the branches are FLATTENED this was so i could correct the rifts first, before trying to making the top all rough. Now you may be asking...those branches are too thin to put anything on, but then you'd be looking at it all the wrong way. No houses go on top silly!! Everything is built into the ice itself, and that means EXTENSIVE modeling in terms of ledge systems for me. Regardless, I think this is the ticket to actually beginning consruction now, provided (knock on wood) that the worldspace decides to keep calm.
