Cival war crashes my game! Help

Hi

 

So I've been playing the Civil war questline on the imperial side fine up until I get to the quest regain the rift. I'm playing with open Civil war on so I already conquered the Pale but the stormcloaks regained it. so I went back there to capture the fort in that region. but as soon as I finish that quest if I leave the area either through walking or fast travel my game will either crash to desktop or when I get into that area if I save it crashes to desktop. the first time I did this quest it was fine only after the stormcloaks regained it. I tried avoiding that quest where I capture the fort and conquering the hold straight away but then it will crash straight away in the same way. I tried capturing a different hold but crashes in the same way too. If I do any other quests in the civil war it crashes. I tried loading older saves and playing but as soon as I reach that point it crashes. I tried uninstalling open civil war but it still crashes at the fort mission or if I do any other quests at that point. I don't know if it has anything to do with open cival war that is crashes but that's what first assumed. I admit I'm a huge beginner when it comes to modding and don't know much. Any help on how to fix this would be great!!!!!!! I don't care if I have to uninstall a few mods just anything to get this quest working! Thanks!! (This is skyrim speical edition btw)
