A WORK IN PROGRESS

Based on my Skyrim version, bringing new enemies, allies, creatures, NPCs, weapons, armours, and more to give the Mojave a dynamically diverse overhaul!

Description

I have decided to get back into playing NV again but I have played it several times now so this time I would like to play it in whole new light, and i'm pretty sure a lot of you would like to do the same. The mod is still at an early stage which is the main purpose of this thread - I will be updating with progress reports and any possible requests for assistance if anyone with skill would like to get involved

Spawns will be determined on the player's level as to not overwhelm combat and preserve the balance, meaning a LOT of the mod is based on levelled lists.

I am attempting to make this close to lore as to not break immersion - meaning no content or themes from other game titles/films/media etc. No overpowered items, realistic aesthetic, balanced encounters and whatever else to make this as enjoyable as possible. There are some things in the mod that could be argueably un-lore friendly just because they haven't been added by the developers but that's about it, judge for yourselves.

This mod will be standalone but will require NVSE, and uses assets from several mods along with my own edits to allow for more dynamic spawns and unique encounters including unique bosses. The main contributors to this project are Dogtown1's Momod monsters (I still keep in touch), Quetzlsacatanango's Critters Resource, and C.I.B's Creature and Weapon Modders Resources for the monsters. There are plenty of other resources I have at my disposal which are yet to be decided.

Here are a few previews of some of the enemies I have put together, these were all taken in my test hall which was quickly thrown together so forgive the lighting.

There are plenty of others I will get more screens up soon

If you have ever played my When Worlds Collide mod, forget about it. This is loosely based on the concept of that mod but I have learnt some neat tricks since then. That mod is unbalanced, un-lore friendly, can cause CTDs, and outdated.

Announcement

I am looking for modders to help out with this project for possible improvements, if you have you have any experience in these areas and you have and want to be a part of this send me PM.

- I would like to add a few followers to the game without the need of another mod such as NCCS, this has to be standalone so get in touch if have made anything like this before or if you know any good tutorial links or anything that would be helpful.

- I am considering adding a few basic quests but my knowledge in this area is pretty limited so if anyone would like help put together some bounty quests let me know.

Half of the purpose of this thread is for feedback so reply to this thread or PM me if you want to contribute something to this project that you think would make a fun addition get back to me on here or even just give some advice or whatever

@MBile: You should be fine using using both if you load this after Momod, however I have already made some edits to a couple of the same levelled lists which means only one will register in-game without some sort of bashed patch.

@luthienanarion: Thanks  I have been wanting to work on this for a while but been really busy with that game, now i'm a bit sick of it at the moment and fancy shooting up some bad guys

Some more images, you will have to forgive the quality I don't run on ultra settings or anything

At the top you can see the Magma Deathclaw (might give it a better name) - has a glowing flame effect and deals fire damage with each hit, and the irradiated deathclaw who is highly radioactive giving burst of toxic gas with each hit...so don't forget the rad-x! There is also Deathclaw Prowler with stealth cloaking ability for sneak attacks

I do not know if I would be able to run the mod (FNV is crashy at times lol), but I am sure very interested in seeing more mods that expand the creatures/npc in FNV. I like Momod a lot, but it does add some creatures in I find not lore friendly and some creatures are so over powered I had to remove them myself lol... or maybe I am just weak. XD

I would offer help, but I am currently rather busy with a few mods of my own and work on a couple other mods for other people... maybe when things slow down.

So yes, WANT.

@nivea: Yeah there are enemies in Momod that are very powerful, I think dogtown was going for a proper challenge mod but I like that  I will be focusing on balance for this mod though - most actors will level with the player while others will present a bigger challenge that will appear at mid/high levels but will have reasonable health.

I am going to add some bosses to the world that will take a bit of a pounding (behemoths for one) but you won't deplete your ammo stash entirely trying to get rid of thousands of hp, but rather take better consideration to defeat your enemies with more/alternative skills

Just added the Midwest BoS levelled NPCs equipped with levelled armours and weapons, the higher ranking ones have customised levelled weapon lists focusing on energy. They come with 3 new brotherhood ranks wearing the advanced suits - Squire, Knight Commander, and Paladin Lord. They are from MidWest Power Armor Professional Edition

http://img22.imageshack.us/img22/3641/midw1.jpg

The story with these guys (from Fallout Tactics) is that they making their way through the Strip for some well deserved RnR after a lengthy journey across the nevada desert. While they are stopping by they have set up camps as friendly NPCs, provided you stay on the good side of the vanilla BoS.

I haven't played Tactics myself however I found and interesting faction,

As of 2277, the fate of the splinter faction is unclear. They have come into some contact with the original, West Coast Brotherhood, but it refused to accept the authority of the Lost Hills elders. Thus, they are considered to be rogue by the rest of the Brotherhood. They also differ from the rest of the Brotherhood as they are willing to accept non-humans into their ranks. During the war with the Calculator, the Midwestern Brotherhood's forces consisted of survivors from the expedition, human recruits from tribes and towns, ghouls, sentient (hairy) deathclaws, some super mutants (many recruits came from defeated enemy forces), and machine legions from Vault 0.

These will be independant from the existing BoS in the game, not seeking them out and could have some of the new Super Mutants and robots as companions with turrets at some larger outposts,

The are Super Mutant Mercenaries, a bit more intelligent than the regular brutes and more proficient in using guns. These will normally been seen either travelling in small groups of 2 or 3 but mostly independant unlike the usual kind. Having the occasional one of these with the MBoS might look pretty fun

@llamaRCA: I like how that guy turned out, got 2 others for now

This one is an Assassin Alien who starts with stealth to surprise the player

and this guy who I am a bit undecided about, maybe 'Hit-Alien' or 'Bodysnatcher' hiding in human clothes. These are actually the mysterious stranger clothes so I gave him the same combat style which looks pretty good in-game  I may give the outfit a darker retexture yet.

Well after some experimentation and testing it looks like I can now officially say that MoWars NV will come with 100% compatibility! Use ANY mods you like with this mod and it will work with no problems whatsoever, meaning any mod that adds weapons, armour, items, enemies of all kinds etc. will work with this and everything will show up!

This is so cool even Santa is bodypopping at the concept!

This is thanks to Millenia for introducing me to this technique, I have little skill in scripting (which is how this is possible) but without his work I don't think I would have been aware of this possibility.
