rafer90
Hey everyone I am trying to install a mod that will help lower my lag on Skyrim for the PC. I have downloaded the file and now I need to drag the mod into my "skyrim folder". I have found nothing of the sort, when I click on my folder that says skyrim I get a folder with a file that says saves, something called renderer info, something that is just a list of data that says skyrim, and finally something that says skyrimprefs. Is this the correct folder to drag the mod into or am I missing something? please help.
Schattenu
Computer > OS (C:) > Program Files (x86) > Steam > steamapps > common > skyrim > Data That's where it installs by default, and most mods require you to put mod files in the Data folder. rafer90
I have no frigging idea what any of what you just said means. please pretend I have autism and respond accordingly. I need step-by-step instructions, not arrows and letters. I am technologically retarded. X D
Schattenu
Click the start button/Windows icon in the bottom left corner of your computer screen, on the right side click "Computer", then double-click "OS (C:)", then double-click "Program Files (x86)", then double-click "Steam", then "steamapps", then "common", then "skyrim", then "Data" and that's where you usually put files from mods. Which you do by downloading the file, extracting the files with a program like WinZip, which you extract either straight to the Data folder, or somewhere else and copy & paste those files to the Data folder (which I recommend, helps to have backups). rafer90
By the way the mod is called "Gigantic skyrim fps preformance patch".
Schattenu
In that case forget about the Data folder part and just drop it in the "skyrim" folder after opening the "common" folder.
rafer90
Well I did it and dragged and dropped and went through the whole process and the game is still pretty much a slideshow, it is still giving me like 1-3 fps and it takes a few seconds for my mouse click to register and for my avatar to attack. Thanks for your help, but I think my video card is just crap.
MotoSxorpio
If you don't meet the minimum recommended requirements, then nothing short of extreme tweaking will "fix" your "lag".
