vattumies
I don't know if this is mod issue or just game related, but at least in Red Rock Canyon some khan's are pointing with their arm. I remember seeing this issue in Gopher's video where same happened with some NCR soldiers. What causes this? I didn't find anything with google or search in this forum. dubiousintent
Haven't heard of that one before. You mean sort like half a "crucifix" pose where only one arm is extended out to the side? Or are they facing the same direction as they are pointing? If it's too hard to describe, a screenshot would help. Then we might be able to come up with a better "search term" to locate other references and possible solutions. * See "How to markup images (etc) in forum posts and comments" article for how to use "Image tags". Some general suggestions and questions: * Toggle "ArchiveInvalidation". Can't hurt and solves some unexpected problems.* See if there is any clue in the "falloutnv_havok.log" (in the game root folder with the EXE).* Are you running over 60FPS? If so, try locking in at 60 and see if there is any change.* Is there any pattern as to when this occurs? I'm assuming you are not seeing it happen elsewhere than Red Rock but is it only in interiors or exteriors or specific areas within Red Rock?As usual, your "load order" will help us see if there are possible conflicts but do you have any mod specifically dealing with either the Great Khans or Red Rock Canyon (I think we can rule out the VWD/LOD overhauls such as NMC, Vurt's WFO, or Ojo Bueno))? -Dubious- Edited April 23, 2020 by dubiousintent
madmongo
I have seen NPCs point. I think it's part of the regular game. I don't think it's a bug. I don't have the time to go digging, but if you search through all of the Khans in the GECK and track down all of their packages you'll probably find either a package or a furniture marker of some sort that triggers it. I know that there are Khans and NCR soldiers that have patrol packages, so pointing might be a part of the standard patrol animation set. If they keep doing it in the same place then it's either a patrol marker or some sort of furniture marker that's triggering the animation. It seems kinda odd because they usually aren't pointing at anything. I don't think it's a problem though.
M48A5
I have also had this happen. When it does, I just ignore it. It happens like this: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/images/45431
dubiousintent
Thanks for the image. That definitely looks "posed" rather a bug. If that is what the OP is referring to, then I would agree it should just be ignored as something the Courier happens to observe "out of context" from the NPC, unless it is happening really often. In which latter case I would look for some mod conflict. OP: might this be related to the sound of sudden ambient gunfire/explosions? That would provide an "audio context" you might not immediately pickup on. -Dubious-
vattumies
I have also had this happen. When it does, I just ignore it. It happens like this: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/images/45431 This is what they do. I haven't heard any gunfire at RRC, and I don't think Khan's around their fight club are supposed to stand still and keep pointing. Jessup is there too and points at their drug lab's direction. Maybe I'll do like you and just ignore it, thanks  Edited April 24, 2020 by vattumies
