XanderVirtus
The one thing keeping me from playing fallout again is the NPC's. When I see them it's like seeing the same person over and over again with different hair and makeup. As if the same person keeps dressing up differently. It freaks me out a little. I can't find anything about this online. NPC mods improve this a little, but the faces remain so similar they might still all be the same person. I know Skyrim and Fallout 3/NV didn't have the best NPC's too, but they didn't give me the feeling of them all being twins. The certain sharp facial features are what causes this I think. Would it be solvable by changing the face meshes? Does such a mod exist? I love fallout since the first game, but I still haven't this one because of this. jjb54
It's called - Cutting Costs. No I'm not talking $$ so much as File Size. When you use the same basic features you can keep the Master File Smaller.
DocMoebius
Bethesda's NPC design has been terrible since Morrowind. I too get the feeling as if all the NPCs were just clones of each other. What's even more immersion breaking is the fact that there are no fat, disabled, super starving skinny or midget people. One would imagine that after all these years in the radiated wasteland there would be a lot deformed, crippled people, but no - everybody is either a little bit chubby or skinny fit to strong fit. It just absolutaley makes zero sense. They really need to rework their skeleton/animation system to be more appropriate.
taryl80
I don't think that we would see a lot of thicker persons in the wastes. The food is terrible (RAD Roaches/Bloat Flys Meat and so on -> I would vomit after every meal), rare and contaminated with radiation. That said it is possible to make NPC thicker or thinner in the CK, but Bethesda has use those options not very often. As example, the Radio Guy from Diamond City (Travis) is a very thin guy, far as I remember and some NPC's in Vault 81 have the thicker bodytype. If one bodytype would dominate the wastes, then the thinner bodytype, I bet. Followed by the muscular one and then the thicker one. DocMoebius
Some people, especially the ones higher up in the hirarchy, always manage to gather enough influence or wealth to be able to afford/get enough or better food. It's also a sign of status. Other than that it's also really cool game design wise to have a few fat and obese people here and there like for instance Gizmo in Fallout 1 in Junktown. XanderVirtus
The thing is, it's not that notable in older fallouts and elder scrolls games. For some reason, the NPC's in fallout 4 look absolutely identical when it comes to faces. So much so that it's creepy to see.
Zorkaz
Skyrim had that problem, FO4 not so much at least for me.Btw there are some fat people, the mayors of Covenant and DC for instance. Proctor Teagan too I think. Also people in Vault 81 Also I don't get what the issue is. Has anyone ever played Witcher 3?
