AminAlfa
hey, i wasn't quite sure to try the texture mods so i head to my ini files but the performance i got wasn't that satisfying so i want to try combining 512 textures and texture optimization project. the thing is that i don't if they can help or combining them both is a good way or is there any other better mod u have tried? my spec is core i5 480m, 4gb ram, mobility radeon 6350m 1gb vram.i could usually get 20 fps with ini tweaks but i hate getting freezes and fps drops in middle of a fight or running even i've already sacrificed anything, i'm getting desperate, suggest me what helped u in this kinda situations. thx
JimmyRJump
A rule you need to observe is that you don't touch your ini files unless it is necessary for some or other reason. Start tinkering at random and you'll spend more time here asking for help than actually playing. Second rule is to first know what GPU you have and how it performs before trying to use any kind of augmented textures. A good series of mods that give better performance while also making the game look beter is Hein84's Vivid series. That Radeon 6350M is an eyewatering poor laptop GPU and not exactly built for gaming. Besides that, it is meanwhile several years old. Never ever use a laptop for gaming. That's my opinion anyway. The 6xxx series is from 2009/2010 and had the 6970 as top card. Mid-tier was the 68xx series and entrance tier was the 67xx series. You have the 63xx series and a laptop variant to boot. Laptop GPUs are clocked lower than their desktop counterparts for heat generation purposes and as such are slower than the desktop cards. Besides being slow, the 6350M has only 1GB of RAM. With FO4 using up and over 8GB in spikes, you're in for a rough ride. Especially when wanting to add mods to the game. I understand that not everybody has the money to spend on decent hardware (I know because I'm one of them, I mean I'm poor) but there's limits to what you want to do with certain gear. Start saving every penny you have to get some decent hardware amigo. Check if that laptop's GPU can be changed (some laptops have a 'fix' GPU that cannot be swapped) and get something that has at least 68 or 69 as first two digits. Also consider that your laptop isn't worth spending money on for gaming. Harsh, maybe, sure, but that's how it is.

Harsh, maybe, sure, but that's how it is. system properties says that I have amd mobility radeon hd 5000 series but after I searched up the ven and dev id it belonged to 6350 which both are considered as legacy GPUs and nothing changed after i download the other model driver and it didn't change from 5000 :/altho that this fujisto laptop I have has been doing good and having a good performance on playing games till 2015, I mean I'm not saying i want to but for now I have to deal with this situation and the fact that i can still play fallout 4 too along the other sequels even with this f*#@ed up settings is fine .I have already tested out vivid textures but it made it much worse and i don't know if it's related to to HDD or the configs I've been using for the vanila. AminAlfa
actually the reason I'm asking if anyone tested this method or not but some modders claim that combining this 2 textures would overcome a good fps without sacrificing everything with some other mods to make the FO4 run smoothly on 4gb ram idk I still have to test them with and without my own config files. The original file is here; https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/978 but it is three years old. I had some luck with this package: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/318?tab=files
