No mods in game mods folder

For some reason all of the content in most of the folders on my pc disappeared including my steam games but seemingly not my mods (according to vortex). After reinstalling Blade & Sorcery the mods were not active in game so I tried reinstalling them, then purging them, finding them on Vortex, installing them again, it still didn't work. Upon further investigation I found that the mods were in the staging folder, but for some reason not the streaming assets of Blade & Sorcery. After deleting the game folder, purging mods, and trying again. I faced the same problem. Any help would be appreciated. I am on Vortex 1.2.11.

 

UPDATE 1: I have uninstalled anything on my pc with the words vortex or sorcery in the name and have done a fresh install of both. I will wait before attempting to install mods. If I can't get mods to work now that is okay I just want to make sure I can have Vortex working when U8 for Blade & Sorcery rolls out so I can get all the new mods.

Your staging folder should never be inside the game directory. This is intended.

 

Make sure Vortex is pointing to the correct Folder for your B&S install by going to Games -> Blade and Sorcery, the click on the little + symbol. If the install path is wrong, click manually set location and point it to the proper folder.

 

You may also need to check the notifications in the top right of Vortex for further advice.
