GloryFiend Posted May 13, 2020 Share Posted May 13, 2020 I only recently started playing Skyrim SE (Through Steam) on the PC and of course have gone down the rabbit hole of mods that are available. I am having trouble with getting SKSE 64 to launch, in fact I have yet to get it to launch. Sadly I my expertise doesn't extend beyond gaming and I was hoping this forum could provide some insight on what I am doing wrong. I am using Vortex as my mod manager I downloaded the archive file with 7Zip I dropped the files into C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition The launcher thinks about launching for a few seconds then just stops, I end up using the standard Skyrim launcher to get into the game. I get the below error message as soon as the game loads: So it appears its not detecting it at all. Hoping to get an idea where I should start. Where did you mean to post?If you meant to post in the Skyrim Section, then you're using the wrong SKSE. Also, the very tiny screen shot is too small to read anything in it. How did you install SKSE, manually? or by following the guide on how to repackage SKSE properly so it will install using vortex? Did you set SKSE to PRIMARY in the dashboard?Does SKSE show up in the dashboard? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

This is usually in your Program Files folder under Steam\SteamApps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\. If you see files named SkyrimSE and SkyrimSELauncher, this is the correct folder. Do not copy these files to the Data folder as with a normal mod. The "src" folder is only useful for programmers, most users can ignore it. 2. Copy the .pex files in Data\Scripts\ into the Data\Scripts\ folder of your installation. The .pex files are needed by all users of SKSE. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
