Skyrim Goof Ups

Skyrim is a great game and a excellent way to while away those idle hours but the developers got some simple things wrong.

1) Why are all the people so lightly clad? I mean Nords are resistant to cold but not immune. Many of the non-Nord NPCs too seem to not mind the cold at all even in places like Dawnguard and Windhelm where is freaking snows all the time.

2) Why do most people keep such late hours? You can find people wandering the streets or in the taverns at 2 am, at 3 am, at 4am.....!!!!! Don't they need to sleep?

3) The game is bit too hard at low levels and exploring in nearly suicidal at times. At high levels with a few perks, crafting and enchanting skills the game is a bit too easy - exploring now becomes boring.

4) Why the hell can't we make arrows? We can make Daedric Armour (stuff that other dimensional beings wear) and we can't make a few iron arrows!!!!!

5) Why do the merchants have so little gold? Without investing atleast 6 perks in Speech playing is rather annoying. The merchants should have a bit more gold as the game progresses.

Well first of all, exploring should be difficult, for it is the harsh land of Skyrim. In fact I use several mods to make it infinitely more difficult, such as random assassination attempts, the need to eat drink and sleep, and easy death from frigid waters and snowy regions. Perhaps you just need to put some ebony in your ale ;)

Second, there are already mods to enable arrow crafting, all you need it one ingot of the arrow type and one block of wood and you can make 20 arrows.

Thirdly, I personally think the merchant have the perfect amount of gold. My current character is level 35, and I am playing him in a hardcore immersion save (sleep, drink, eat, cold, wet / survival / high damage / no fast travel / realistic jump and run speeds / realistic carry) and due to this I manage to sell heaps of collected gear to vendors all over Skyrim. This means I am already in the 150 K gold region in 60 hours of playing. I have been able to do this because the vendors have varied from 1 K gold to 3 K, the perfect amount.

Additionally, most vendors in Skyrim aren't super rich, they are normal people, so it wouldn't make sense for them to be overly wealthy.

Fourth, there are already mods to fix the light clothing problem, such as Winter is Coming which makes the characters wear cloaks and hoods in cold weather, and other that makes them wear cloaks and cowls when it is raining.

Fin ally, I agree with you on the night thing, but i rarely see people after 10:30

I was talking about the Vanilla version. You are right about the mods (thank the 8 divines for mods and their makers). I differ about the merchants thing, yes in small places like Riverwood the amount of gold the merchant has makes sense but in a trade hub like Whiterun or port like Solitude it doesn't makes sense. Also you'd expect people selling items worth 3-4k Septims to have a few thousand Septims right? They do sell some stuff to other people too I suppose - there is a freaking Civil War, random Dragon attacks and as you said it is a dangerous place. If weapons don't get sold in Skyrim I don't know where they will. :P  :teehee:
