BoBo5151
I wan't to install some things from the site, but to do so, It says that I have to run a program called GenerateFNISforUsers.exe. It says that I can find it in Program Files(x86), but I don't have this folder. I only have Program Files. Can somebody tell me where I can find this program. Oubliette
You will find FNIS in whatever directory you have Skyrim installed in. Program Files (x86) is a general guideline based on the most people's install directory. If all else fails you can always do a general search on your entire computer looking for "GenerateFNISforUsers" and opening file location when your computer locates the exe, then take note of the install directory because you'll probably be needing it again for other mods. Oubliette
Open up the destination folder - not the item. You should easily be able to find the exe located in a near directory to the readme. If not found on your system at all, you have not installed the mod. Reinstall.
bben46
Are you running a PC? The most common reason for not having those folders is trying to run a PC program - like the mods, on a xbox or PS3 - which we do not support or allow here. Or maybe on a MAC without windows support. You need a program like Boot Camp (allows Windows to be run on a MAC) and a legitimate copy of Windows for that. If you are running on a PC:Program files, and Program Files (x86) are NOT a part of the game and are not installed by the game and are not found in the game folders at all. They are windows folders. Look in C:\program files and C:\Program Files (x86) These folder contain most of the programs on your computer as they are the default place that windows uses to install programs. The steam games are found in C:\program Files (x86)\ steam. Most non steam games are in C:\program files (x86)\Game_name Here is a link to some help on understanding how windows deals with folders & files (this is called File structure)http://s1.zetaboards.../3396037/1/#new And here is a link to the entire troubleshooting blog it came from: http://s1.zetaboards.../4751769/1/#new
HeyYou
And if you have a 32 bit operating system, you won't find the Program Files(x86) folder in any event. It isn't there.
BoBo5151
OK, so I reinstalled the mod, I searched in every folder related to skyrim, I viewed the guide and I realized that most of the folders in Data are missing. I only have Interface,Meshes,Scripts,Strings and Video. The other folders like Sounds,Textures and Tools just aren't there. I just don't know what to do now, I've run out of ideas :wallbash: . You won't have those other folders until a mod adds them or you create them yourself.
