I wouldn't count on that option...

Personally I have made a 100% clean install of current xcom-version and rar-archived both the game folder and the my documents\My Games-folder so that I at least in theory can disable updates in steam, delete all game files and replace them with the current version whenever I want to go back.

Great Mod - very fun changes and I like the new features.

Only issue I'm having is getting the soldier rank names to change to my custom names. I've edited the xcomgame.ini and saved it, however the names don't change in the game when I have this mod installed. Any idea why?

Thanks Johnny,

by the way I hope you know the word genius is being tossed around in my brain when I think about what this mod did to the soldier classes - 8 of them! wow.

I don't really know where else to post this, but, does anyone know if the modding works as well with the Gamestop app versus the Steam version? I'm wanting to get the game to play, but I want modding support...

Dont mind me, just wanting 2 3 4 things:

1. Thx a real big of lot for the mod Mr Lump!

2. I dont get the scout. In my eyes every other class is better.

3. Appcrash c0000005 long war mod xcom enemy unknown ctd crash (to help google help others)

Read the instruction from JL carefully!

1) Get a clean game installation, either through a fresh install or by using the "verify integrity of game cache" option in Steam to fix all your files. Make sure you are patched up to date and X-Com is able to "phone home" by putting Steam in online mode and removing any hosts block you have previously implemented. Then start the game to the main menu (un-modded), close it, and start it again, and close it, so the game can install any run-time updates. This will ensure you have a clean game that's fully installed.

4. I have done all the instructions and i calculated the md5 checksum for the exe:

fe2bfe56172238d5bf754af1a14e82a7 C:\Games\Steam\SteamApps\common\XCom-Enemy-Unknown\Binaries\Win32\XComGame.exe

My last exe (game crashed often so i reinstalled) had:
d2ce03c01f5d9b24f168a7d4cc748038 C:\Games\Steam\SteamApps\common\XCom-Enemy-Unknown\Binaries\Win32\Backup\orig exe LW2_1beta\XComGame.exe

Is my current exe the right one?

I am having some serious problems with this mod. I just installed it today and checked everything you said in the description to make sure I installed it correctly. However, when I try to launch it from Steam in either offline or online mode I get the whole "XCOM Enemy Unknown has stopped working" thing. I made sure that the game did not update and I followed all instructions. Help?
