Updated NMM now all mod files are gone

I use the older NMM religiously because I vortex isn't as straight forward, anyway it's been bothering me about updating for a while; I finally gave in and now the entire folder where all my mods are installed is gone. Is there anyway to get it back? I've tried checking my recycle bin and I honestly don't know what else to do short of manually reinstalling all my mods one by one.

 

Edit: Further analyses I found that all the mods are still in the folder, I just looking in the wrong place, however it won't actually install them to my game for whatever reason. I just get the error message that says "The selected profile contains files from mods not currently installed The manager will automatically reinstall the needed files. cluck CANCEL if you want to skip this step." Pressing Yes does nothing.

If you know the name or a partial name of one of the mods you had installed or nmm had downloaded, go to C:\users

open that. at the top of the windows explore search for that name .when the name or names' pop up, select the item right mouse and go to that folder location .what your looking for are all the downloads, zips 7z's *.rar's etc.etc..

 

open the folder and right mouse drag them to the download folders in the new installation of nmm or to your default download folder .

 

now..IF they were completely Eliminated? well, guess your having a fun filled day reinstalling all the mods from scratch.

Did you go from a version that was pre-profile driven, to one of the later versions? When I did that, I had to reinstall all of my mods.........

Losing all connections to mods in saved folders every time NMM is updated and having to manually reinstall the mod connections has now become unacceptable.  I have updated 4 times and lost all connections to mods every time and had to manually reinstall the connections for each of the several hundred mods I use and then resort out the load order each time.  Before that, all mods transferred without problem.  0.87.2 is the last update I installed and I will no longer update.  I prefer NMM but it is not worth keeping at this point.  I will keep this version until it fails.  I know at one point updates did not have this problem.  So this is an issue introduced 5 updates ago.
